Has anyone volunteered with Diverbo, which I think was previosly named Pueblo Ingles? I am considering tacking on a week with a RS Spain tour. Thanks.
I have done Vaughantown twice, but not Diverbo. As I understand it, Vaughan and Pueblo Ingles were affiliated, then went their separate ways. I love Vaughantown and can't wait to go back!
Have not done the Diverbo, but think it is good from what I know from friends who attended Pueblo Ingles....As for me, about 16 Vaughantown programs, and more in 2015....A fantastic experience which will change your outlook on life and most likely your life as well!!
Thanks so much. I have not heard of the other opportunity.
Here is another recent thread about Vaughantown:

Thanks H J & Nancy, I had not heard of that company. I will look them up.
I have volunteered with Diverbo a few times and highly recommend it. Their programs run for 8 days, from Friday to Friday. (Vaughantown is 6 days) It is a demanding but very enjoyable experience. If you are already in Spain, it is a great way to connect with people rather than being a tourist. You also get to know people from all over the world who volunteer with the program.
My favourite Diverbo venue so far is the "Dona Teresa". The hotel is located right in the village of La Alberca. This allows you to walk around and enjoy the sights during your one-to-one conversations and you can visit the local clubs, etc. after dinner. At the more isolated venues you spend the entire 8 days on the hotel grounds.
NOTE: Diverbo also has a different venue close to the same village. They refer to that venue as "La Alberca" but the hotel there is actually called "L'Abadia de los Templarios". It has larger grounds and an outdoor swimming pool which can be used by the Dona Teresa's guests. The Diverbo participants from that venue go into the village for an excursion/lunch on one day and for a special dinner as well.
The program seems to be growing in popularity among Canadians. I'm looking forward to volunteering at one of their programs in Germany this spring. Good luck with your planning!
I did it a few years ago and just loved it. You literally spend all day every day talking to non-native English speakers to help them improve their English. You don't have to "teach", you just talk; about family, friends, your life, your plans, your travels, your country, etc. You learn a lot about the country and about yourself and how your own country is viewed from outside. I highly recommend it. The food was good, the wine was good, and the participants were excellent.
