Barcelona football tickets, day of

Traveling to Barcelona in early December; interested in seeing a football match. At this point, our schedule isn't set and we need some flexibility in buying tickets.

Is it possible to buy tickets from random people on the street, "scalpers"? What's the legality on that practice there?

Bummer.

The only tickets I've seen from any official sources are 275 euro, each. So either I'm doing something wrong, or ... yea I dunno. I won't even pay USD100 a seat to see my favorite American football/NFL team.

If you're talking El Clasico on the 3rd, forget it. Otherwise, based on our experience in Madrid in May, ticket availability changes almost by the minute as you get closer to the day of the match. Keep watching the FC Barcelona website right up to match day would be my suggestion. Good luck.

We asked the host at our BnB about tickets. They got online & purchased two tickets & printed them out. As I remember, the tickets we choose were in the $50 - $90 a piece range. They are different prices based on where you sit and I got ours about halfway up the stands on one of the corners. We got some great pictures. The date on our tickets was 15 February 2014. They love their futbol & we enjoyed the friendly crowd.

Check on the fixture list, games against Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Valencia and Athletic Bilbao are the biggest games and chances of getting a ticket are low, the higher up you are the less you pay, use official barca website or ticket office never buy from a tout you could be sold a forgery or if caught end up in jail this practice is illegal in europe.

Got another email offer from the official ticket website...this time it was about 50 euros...much more reasonable! Purchased two tickets.

I'm a bit of a photography fan...what's the rule of thumb for photo gear at these games? I was planning on leaving the gear behind, but might change my mind if it's fairly easy going.

Same rules as it would be here......only people with media passes can bring in cameras with detachable lenses. Smaller consumer cameras and of course smartphones are kosher.

"Same rules as here"... yea, that's all relative. The MLB games I go to let you bring as big of a lens as you want... so I've sat front row with my pro sports lens, hence my question.

I attend a lot professional sporting events here in the NYC area, and I have seen people with big cameras refused entry and even ejected from the venue; hence the answer. In addition with a lot of enhanced security measures a entertainment venues these days bags anything larger than a small purse are verboten.

Stephen, I had a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS with a pretty good zoom. No huge lens, but it took some good pictures. Hope this helps.

I have never had a media pass and take my DSLR with "detachable lenses" to all kinds of US sporting events. The only place I have ever even been questioned was a Figure Skating event and all they wanted to see then was the "lens length" (They weren't letting me bring in one of those giant lenses, but mine was fine)

Keep checking back, I thought we weren't going to be able to get tickets when we were there and wound up getting them from the box office for 60euros. If you are talking the Barcelona/Real Madrid match in a few days, that might be a bit tough, huge rivalry. Go to a bar and watch the game with the fans, it will be just as fun and give you a great sense of the atmosphere.

We did not have any problem getting tickets 3 years ago, granted, it was against a lesser team. I actually went on the Barca website and bought them ahead of time. While in Barcelona, there were Barca kiosks on Las Ramblas that also sold tickets, among other things. Much easier than getting tickets for a Premier League game. I think we ended up paying about $75 each for very good seats. I Highly recommend it, folks were very nice with us, great atmosphere, and we got to see Messi.
