I went to look at tickets to visit the Alhambra in March of this year, and it seems that except for a few days in April, it is sold out all the way through January 2019 (that's as far as I looked). I know it is a popular attraction, but that seems a bit... odd. Is this plausible or is something wrong with the site? They do not release them very far in advance, so nompoint in looking all the way to January for formation.
I see the April calendar wide open every day after April 7.
But you are going in March, correct? I see only one day in March , the 7th. It is a popular World Heritage site with lots of visitation in March. It is possible the general tickets are indeed sold out. But other types of visit may be available.
I hope someone can help you with this as my personal experience is 7 years out of date.
The is always a block of tickets reserved for hotel guests. Give you hotel a call.
Hi, I am having the same problem! Our trip is planned for early March, and the entire month is sold old, and, as you said, for many months going forward.... I am trying to get tickets through a tour guide--no luck yet! Good luck. Karen
I'm going in May, and it too looks sold out. But I don't think it is actually sold out. It appears that they use the same red for sold out and for not yet available. That's why everything past April appears sold out. Won't help you with March, but we don't want to scare people arriving later. I did see that you can go on a more expensive guided tour in March through Alhambra's website. https://www.alhambradegranada.org/en/info/guidedtours.asp
As already mentioned by Lola, Alhambra tickets are already sold out for the month of March, except for March 7.
You may want to read this recent post where the OP mentioned that he was able to buy a, Granada Card, which includes entry to the Alhambra but you must select a date and time during the purchase process.

Alhambra tickets may be booked up to 3 months in advance, so tickets for May are not yet available.

I just went to the Alhambra site and most of April is red (just a few days near the end are open).
I emailed our hotel to ask what they would recommend.
Two of you had the same problem but another person was able to purchase tickets.
I tried Chrome and Firefox, just in case the browser made a difference.

April is a very popular time to travel so I’m not surprised that Alhambra tickets have sold out.
You may try contacting the Alhambra directly at +34 - 858 953 616.
One used to be able to buy tickets by phone but I don’t know if this is still the case.

I emailed our hotel and they said that the tickets are, indeed, sold out.
I read elsewhere that hotels have 400 tickets per day to draw upon.
My hotel said they'd get us the tickets if we provided them w/ our full info. and the cost would be E20 each. Ouch.
I was going OCD on planning in Nov and Dec and slowed down (for several reasons - one being that a new daughter-in-law doesn't have her passport yet) and a bit sorry. But, E5 each is better than "no ticket at all"
