I am trying to get reservations at the Alhambra for Feb. 24. When I go to the site it shows the *entire * month of Feb. "redded" out. How can there be no days or times available already for the entire month? Is it possible there is some problem with the site. Checked on a tourist card which includes this, and they are unable to reserve a day either. Have sent email through official site but no response yet. What else can I do?
This is not unusual , when we visited last year , signs in the ticket office in Granada clearly indicated no availability for four weeks . Get in touch with your hotel , they may have an inside track to some availability
If no luck through your hotel, I wonder whether there would be slots available on a commercial tour that includes the Alhambra? I know that's a work-around some folks use for the also very popular Last Supper in Milan.
Thank you both for your prompt replies with helpful suggestions. My friends and I have thought of going the guided tour route but the hotel is not an option since we have rented an apt. There is an earlier entry on the forum about a new system being installed this past Oct which had some glitches. I wonder if something like that is causing the full month to go blank. Anyone have any insights about that?
I'm in a similar situation for the beginning of April. The only day available is the day before we would fly out of Seville. Is it reasonable to see the Alhambra starting first thing in the morning and then catch a train in the late afternoon? We don't have air/hotel reservations yet (living in Germany)...it seems silly to spend the time/money to be in Andalucia and not see the Alhambra. Should I start looking at a Plan B trip?
My problem is solved as I was able to get the Granada card with Alhambra entry at the time I wanted. The official reservations site continues to be totally blocked in Feb. Thanks to all who had suggestions for me.

It's great to hear that you were able to get the Granada Card and will be able to visit the amazing Alhambra!
I checked the Alhambra site recently (for another question here on the forum) and noticed that February and most of March is already sold out.
Erika, I hope you can also get the Granada Card.
For future reference only... It's recommended to book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance. The Alhambra is the main highlight of Granada, and it's extremely popular, so tickets do sell out way in advance.
Enjoy your trip!
Edited to add...
Trish, Here is another helpful website for transportation within Granada:lovegranada.com/transport/alhambra-buses
Erika, it's best to start your own post with your question(s), but I will reply here and hope that this may also benefit someone else.
Yes, you can take a train or a bus to Sevilla in the afternoon/evening. I'd suggest taking the ALSA BUS, over the train, as it offers more time selections. Enjoy!
Remember the Alhambra is the most heavily visited tourist site (think Disneyworld) in all of Spain -- both local and foreign tourists. So earlier the better. While that is not useful information for you it may explain the difficulty in obtaining tickets. Years ago we hit the same road blocks so went through our hotel. It is my understanding that a good block of tickets are reserved for hotel guests.
I will check out the Granada card as well - thank you all!
Something does seem to be off...just checked for tickets through the entire summer and into the fall and nothing is available?!?!
Erika, I see lots of March days with availability on the website Priscilla included in her post. At the moment the website won't go past March for me, so I'm guessing they don't have tickets loaded for subsequent months. Are you sure you're using the correct website?
Unfortunately, on-sale dates for some attractions (and some trains) can vary in terms of lead time, with tickets showing up for online purchase erratically. You sometimes need to check repeatedly and persistently to avoid missing out. This might be one of those times.
The information on the Granada Card was very helpful. I just want to confirm that this is not a discount card, but an entrance card to the various sites listed? I just have to reserve the day and time we're attending?
Thanks again!
I have just returned from my trip to Spain, and did use the Granada card for the Alhambra entrance. First, do not miss the Alhambra. It is amazing and awesome and unbelievable. Second, I checked on Alhambra reservations starting 2 months in advance and kept seeing the entire month of March blacked out. I emailed to the official site and was told dates usually open up, but didn’t want to take that chance and got the Granada card since it was a sure thing. As suggested, the Alhambra calendar did open up about 2 weeks later, but I kept the card reservation. On the website when I reserved the card, there was a reservation document which should be printed at home which has the date/time for the Alhambra reservation and will be the ticket you use to get you in. When you get to Granada you must go to the City Hall, or to a newspaper kiosk at the Plaza Nueva, and pick up your paper bus tickets. But that reservation document from the website is what gets you in, so don’t forget it. It all worked seamlessly, but was not obvious to me beforehand. Enjoy Spain....It is fabulous. Trish
