I've been to Spain multiple times over the past 10 years, including a day trip to Cordoba via Seville in 2017. This fall we are returning with family who are first time visitors to Spain. When we day tripped we toured the Mezquita, skipped the Alacazar but did the Roman Bridge and walked through the old town. Was wondering if two days and three nights might be a bit too much versus one full day and two nights. Thanks in advance.
Cordoba felt more chill than Seville. Just improvise a day trip somewhere else if you start to feel like you have nothing to do after two nights . The Alcazar in Cordoba garden was a pleasant surprise. The bridge was not as impactful. I think 2 full days is enough.
Thanks. Any recommendations for short, doable day trips from Cordoba via car? Thanks in advance.
I was recently in Cordoba for three nights. This has the details of what I did.
Malaga is just an hour train from Cordoba if you wanted to see something different your third day.
Thank you Jean for this wonderful and inspiring trip report. The Hammam sounds like a splendid idea for my wife and sister in law. We are actually starting out our trip in Malaga, so the report is extremely helpful in this regard as well. Wishing you all the best in your future travels.
Great! Glad it could be helpful for you. Be sure they pack a swimsuit for the Hamman, and I recommend the package that includes the Kessa scrub & massage at such a reasonable cost.
I spent three nights in Cordoba in January on a second visit and am still planning to return. The historical centre is ideal for wandering and there's a lot to see and do.

You could also have a half day trip to Medina Azahara. There's a dedicated bus from the centre.
Thank you Tinac for the reply and terrific blog information.
We really enjoyed Medina Azahara . Brad
I spent 5 nights in Cordoba last year; here is the thread that I wrote about eating in the city; I absolutely loved the food, from the snails at the outdoor bars to my dinner at NOOR.

You could pair the Medina brad mentioned with Castillo Almodovar del Rio a little further away. The castle is only a 35 minutes drive from the Mezquita.
There are a couple other places like Castillo de Iznájar and the town, Reserva Natural de la Laguna de Fuente de Piedra, and Fortaleza de la Mota, but each is between 1.25 and 1.5 hours away.
Thanks to everyone for the kind and informative replies. Definitely will be doing two full days versus just one.
Two full days. We were there for several days in 2023 and didn’t see everything so we’re going back in 2025.
Glad to help :)
Cordoba is one of my favourite places.
