Best of Adriatic Tour - How Early to Arrive, Extra Time After

Hi, I am taking the same tour but on an earlier date. I will be staying two nights in Ljubljana before the tour begins - staying at the same hotel.

I’m planning to take the food tour and probably a bike tour that I mentioned in this link. I was disappointed that the opera house has a children’s play while I’m there. Maybe you will have a better choice!

We always arrived 3-4 days ahead of time to the country of a RS tour - usually beginning at a different city to have an extra experience. This time since I’ll be in London before the tour, I’m heading directly to Ljubljana.

I’m staying an extra day at the end in Amsterdam.

You will love the RS tours! They maximize your time there, and the groups have always been very friendly! Since you’re new, be open the first evening to getting to know everyone to have a great start!

I took this tour last September. I know that you are really going to enjoy this tour! I planned on arriving two days prior to the start of the tour and I was glad that I did. A last minute strike by an airline made it look like I might be delayed in my arrival by a day. I did make it as scheduled, but I was glad I had planned the extra time and didn't have to worry that I would miss the start of the tour if I had been delayed.

On my full extra day I went on a day tour to Postojna Cave and Prejama Castle offered through Slovenia Explorer Tours. https://www.slovenia-explorer.com/ They picked me up 1/2 block from the hotel and returned me to the same spot. It was a good tour and I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were just 6 of us on the tour and the driver/guide.

I stayed at the tour hotel (Hotel Mrak). FYI, there is a very easy to use laundromat on the same street as the hotel about a 7-8 minute walk away if you want to do laundry.

I used Go-Opti shuttle in from the airport and it dropped me (and a few other tour members) right at the door of the hotel so it was quite convenient after a long travel day.

I left Croatia on the day the tour ended as I was joining another RS tour in Rome that started the next day.

Jean, are you on the April 18th Adriatic Tour? My husband and I are on it.

We are on the June 18th tour if anybody out there is on the same (?) We are flying out of MPLS so we are going to land in Venice for a couple of nights, and then take the bus down to Slovenia. Looks like the bus station is a short walk to Hotel Mrak. Been. few years so glad to be back in Europe.

Steve, I will arriving on the 16th but just coming from London. (Independent travel for two weeks in Wales & England.) I’m going to the Philharmonic Orchestra the evening of the 16th. Saturday morning I am booked on a tour of the Predjama Castle & Postojna Cave with Slovenia Explorer that Carol mentioned above. The small minivan will be 8 people max, and they will pick me up near Hotel Mrak, if you’re also interested.

I’m going to be in Germany and Austria before the trip, it’s nice to get over jet 🛩️ lag before the tour begins!

Cheryl, I will also be there a day early at the same hotel. I'm doing a Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle tour earlier on the day we all meet. (Not very restful but I couldn't pass it up!)
