WOW Airlines shuts down

If anyone here was scheduled on a WOW Airlines flight to Scotland, please know that the airline has shut down and ceased operations due to economic reasons. It was a wonderful airline while it lasted, offering budget flights to Scotland, London, and continental European destinations through Reykjavik.

Passengers have been stranded on both sides of the Atlantic. If you have reservations for later in the year, contact your credit card company immediately to find out how you should proceed for a refund. As of today, WOW is not offering direct refunds.

WOW had substantially reduced their flights from Edinburgh recently, but they iirc they were due to operate 3 weekly over the summer, so unfortunately many will be affected.

There are plenty flight options from the US to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and connecting options to Aberdeen and Inverness too, so hopefully those affected can get other flights.

For people who were combining Scotland and Iceland, Icelandair fly daily to Glasgow and to many US destinations, so this should be a good option.
