I would not be concerned about luggage, there has always been plenty of space for luggage when I've travelled with Stagecoach in Fife. Although I guess the unexpected can always happen.

It's always booked to be a coach because of the duration of the journey. There is one evening working where they swop vehicles at Leven, and the last leg from Leven is by bus. (the 6.33pm from Leven).
Looking at live tracking at this exact moment all 5 vehicles currently on service today are coaches.

Take a connecting bus 747 or 787 from EDI Airport and connect into the X60 at Ferrytoll park and ride- don't go into Edinburgh City.

747 is a bus with big luggage racks.

The 787 is a new fast coach service every two hours from the airport to St Andrews and in some cases may be the fastest route to Anstruther changing back south at St Andrews

Thank you both!

I think my current plan, considering jetlag, age, and luggage, is to take the 787 to St. Andrews and take a taxi or Uber from there to Anstruther. Shorter coach time with less stops and no need to move luggage to another coach.
