Evora: Cromeleque dos Almendres

Hello,
We're spending 2 nights in Evora (Sep 30 and Oct 1) and very much want to visit Cromeleque dos Almendres. We'll have a compact rental car and I see on this forum that the road there is not very good, so I'm worried our car won't make it or we'll damage the car trying. Nick seems to think we can risk it so we don't have to pay for a tour, but I'm nervous to try. Has anyone taken a tour recently and would recommend the tour company, or have any other advice? Thank you!

Edit to add: I found this website but it's a couple of years old. https://www.cm-evora.pt/en/cromeleque-dos-almendres-reaberto-ao-publico/

Morgan, I wish you luck with the tour. When I visited in July 2025, they were not running the tour due to a roadway that was blocked by flooding or some kind of landslide. I suggest contacting them by email to see if the issue has been resolved since last year. Here is my trip report of the visit. Scroll to Evora and then the What Went Wrong section to see my story. It ended up to be a fine day at some of the megalithic sites but it might have been a one off.

Thank you, Linda! Wonderful report. Glad you got to see some megoliths!
I did hear back from the tour company and they are doing tours, at least as of now. They are available on the day we want to go, however they have a 3-person minimum and it's just the two of us so far. So we'd have to pay for the third spot if no one else signs up, or else cancel. I suppose I will sign up and hope someone else joins?
