Need itinerary for a month in Poland

Hi All!

I am planning a stay in Poland this June for about 4-5 weeks. I am flying out of Orlando and am open to seeing anything. Can anyone suggest a fun itinerary? Hidden treasures, day trips, places not to miss, etc.

Also would love recommendations for apartments and restaurants.

Just as a reference, I’m considering starting in Gdansk and working my way south.

I’m a 56 year old female solo traveler. I’ve been to Europe many times but this is my first foray into the eastern countries. I love city tours, cooking classes, food tours, cultural events, shopping. Not so much into museums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Am following this as well. Husband and I are 60 and momma (who is very fit) is turning 79.

We also love city tours, food tours, cultural events, music, and just wandering and vibing. Love checking out parks, architecture, and a museum, church, and interesting markets.

Loved Budapest and Lisbon, ready to plan another trip but haven't narrowed it down location-wise. I want warm, but hubby wants Ireland, Germany, Poland, or some such and it's his turn to pick lol.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread @chefkim68, just want to tag along and get great ideas from the RS peeps.

If you browse earlier threads in the Poland forum, you'll find lots of suggestions about cities, towns and areas to visit. Traveling around Poland is relatively easy

I posted this on a previous thread, but it might help you as well. Poland has many ethnographic parks throughout the country that recreate typical towns and villages of the past. Generally, they are a few (3-4) hours away from big cities, but there is one near Torun and one near Gdansk. Since they are not in the same area as my family was from, I didn't pursue them, but since they are closer to cities than the park of my choice, there might be public transportation. I don't know if your trip involves roots travel, but it is a cultural experience, so you might want to consider them.

In line with what Wanderlust was saying, I really enjoyed the folk museum near the Jewish quarter of Krakow. There was lots on the homes, clothing, food and customs of Polish people thru the year. While it is a museum, it is small and engaging. It was inexpensive or free.
