“Ancestry tour” of Poland

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Krakow and Wroclaw for December. Has anyone used one of the tour companies that helps you put together an itinerary including ancestral places. My family were Silesian Germans and I know towns they lived but don’t know if worth visiting. The family lived in Upper Silesia (Opole region) then lived in Breslau (Wroclaw) until the end of WW2. I plan on visiting the cathedral my 2x great grandmother was baptized, located in Wroclaw so at least one link to the past! Thank you

Hello! I have not had any experience with ancestry tour companies you mention, but I have spent quite some time traveling solo around the Silesia region of Poland, including Wrocław, which is my favourite Polish region and city! A lot of those small towns around Silesia are quite well preserved thanks to the Polish government. Both Krakow and Wrocław have excellent Christmas Markets in December

As you may know, Katowice (just west of Krakow) was the industrial and economic capital of the historic Silesia region, I suggest a few nights there, especially as they have a brand new modern museum of the Silesian people/culture/history, all the exhibits are in Polish, German, and English.
