I read the post below about a RS hideaway tote or "don't tell Rick" extra bag. I don't know if they are the same. However, I think I do want to expand my carryon coming back home and check it. I can then take this hideaway as my carryon. I plan on purchasing item and gifts. I actually have a very light weight nylon small duffle that could work. It's about 15" x 10". Just wanted to check the RS ones, but don't see them.

Several months ago, the Hide Away Tote moved from 'Travel Bags' to 'Accessories'; gave me a moment of panic LOL! I may have a hoarding problem with these totes...
For ease of carrying you may prefer the Tote, but if not there are 1001 other uses for it.

And they will be salivating over the blue spruce color vs, their plain ole black! AND, they will turn green when they see the Rick Steves stitched on it...ha,
I do wish he carried a 22" inch...that is what DH wants and we will purchase elsewhere for that. Personally, I would have bought it too. The reason I bought the 20 was for international planes. Then I found out I wouldn't be able to carry it anyway because of the weight restrictions....so really no reason to have gone 20". I would have enjoyed the extra space...but I do like that it's only 6.5 lbs.

yeah! I'm glad I waited to buy the Veloce bag, so I didn't have to pay shipping twice. These bags look really big..I'm assuming if we use it on our way home as one carryon (checking our luggage), we will just have to semi-fill it up. We will be taking one Italiaair from Naples to Rome. I think their carryon requirements are 20 x 14 x 9, correct?
Well, I went and bought it with the Veloce Day bag (my personal item). The tote bag has such great reviews...I'll just have to remember not to fill it up completely so it can be my carryon item....maybe 3/4 full. Or...it's actually bigger than my suitcase I think. maybe I'll fill that up and check it!

I purchased that tote for our RS Italy trip 3 years ago. It was wonderful to be able to pull that out when needed. I now take it on every trip, even domestic ones! I also have a portable scale to weigh our bags. More than once we've had to rearrange our packing and the hideaway bag saved us from paying overweight fees (it was cheaper to check my very stuffed Euro flight bag and carry on the hideaway tote than pay for an overweight bag). I travel with the RS 20" rolling carryon and the euro shoulder tote, with the hideaway packed flat, all color coordinated :) With that sale price, I may pick up a couple for Christmas gifts.
