TravelPro's Black Friday sale on now

If you've been thinking about new luggage, TravelPro has pretty substantial discounts right now. I highly recommend the MaxLite carry-on spinner (soft side). It only weighs around five pounds and still looks great after many trips.

That's the one I have and I love mine, especially the light weight. I'm been buying TravelPro for years and think their luggage is great.

Sadly, my last piece of luggage from these people was a piece of junk and their warranty has become nonexistent so I will not be buying again

I have the same one as Currer and really like it. It went on a 3 week trip to Australia and New Zealand this year and has been on several trips to Europe without showing any wear.

My husband had a TravelPro maxlite 5 but his was the one with 2 feet and 2 wheels. He bought it not long before the pandemic so only used it 3 times before one of the feet broke off. Past warranty but no problem I thought, since they have a parts catalog and the needed part was there. But I was told the part isn't available despite the fact that they still make the identical suitcase, so obviously that part is still available somewhere.

I would never buy another TravelPro product.

Sorry to hear that some of you have had issues with this brand! We have 24" two-wheeled T.P. bags that are 18 years old this year and still going strong. We've dragged them across tons of nasty surfaces and the wheels have held up nicely, knock on wood. I lost one of the pull tabs on one of the zippers on my bag, and they both have a few stains but no biggie. I wonder if wheels on the new 2-wheelers hold up as well? Our bags are admittedly a bit heavy but, well, I'll chalk that up to their sturdiness.

I purchased a 22" Maxlite 2-wheeler on sale last year (haven't used it yet) and we very recently purchased underseat totes on sale: a Classic and a Maxlite soft tote; took the Classic on its first trip a month or so ago and I like it a lot.

A few weeks ago I purchased the Maxlite 5 Compact spinner, 5.1 lbs. It's very light. It's also unclear how long it will last, but I am excited to try it. It fits the measurements for Delta, 22 x 14 x 9. It will easily fit British Airways, but I wanted to make sure it fit both the carriers I mostly fly, Delta domestically and BA internationally. It's very light so maybe not sturdy? I have to be say I will be nervous if I check it, which I've usually done in the past with my carryons. I guess I just won't. My other bags I've had no qualms about checking and they've held up well. I just wanted a spinner.

I will say I would have bought the RS spinner, but it is 10" deep, not 9" so technically not legitimate for Delta. In fact, I, also, found most of the Maxlite bags too wide for Delta; ie, they were 15.75 inches wide.

I also had trouble with TravelPro luggage. A wheel broke and customer service was not helpful. Didn't even have a wheel so I could replace myself.

Some of our carry on suitcases are very old, like 25 years. They refuse to die. It's the newer ones, regardless of brand, that have been problematic.

I was gifted an Away carry on. We'll see how that fares, soon. They do have a lifetime guarantee.

I hear nothing but praise for RS's luggage. Right now, I'm in the market for a medium suitcase for when I need to do checked, and would love to buy from RS if he had the size I want.

As an aside, maybe everyone but me knows, but suitcase wheels need to be examined frequently and accumulated hair removed, similar to a vacuum cleaner.

I admire you attempting to comply with Delta‘s baggage policy, but what you will notice about Delta is if it’s a steamer trunk, it can be carried on. They make no effort to enforce their size limitations and when I say no, I mean absolutely none

I’ve watched some elite Delta flowers have a little hissy fits when they couldn’t get their item in the overhead bin because it was too big. Apparently the bin was supposed to magically grow for them. I mean it was very apparent that that was not carry-on size but the agents just let them roll it right on board the plane

In 2016 I bought a Maxlite Spinner (21" size). It's been great through all my trips since then.

I wish TravelPro still made the underseat spinner with a trolley sleeve.
