What clothing should I bring for this time of year in Sicily? For some reason, I was thinking lighter clothes but as I read about the weather, it seems I need more pants and warmer clothes. Also, seems to be somewhat rainy. Suggestions?
Are you going carryon or checking one or more bags?
There are numerous cold water packing lists all over the web. Fun reading to compare styles and budgets.
Mildly cold weather with occasional rain is one thing; constant snow and <32F with wind and sleet is quite another. For me: legs-- two pants (1 is zippoff), two shorts, and an ultrtalight fleece skin layer; torso--merino wool sweater, two merino shirts, fleece skin layer; outerwear--rain shell, NanoPuff or light down coat, gloves, buff, maybe a ski hat or balaclava; footsies--three merino sox, one polypro sox, one waterproof sox; and I carry ultralight silk pajamas that can double as another skin layer.
This assumes doing laundry at regular intervals although most folks have excellent luck wearing their merino many times between washings.
You can always buy an extra layer in-country if necessary.
