Travel sheet or sleeping bag liner

For me there is no such thing as being cold at night. I find duvets too hot, nearly impossible to sleep with and after I throw off the duvet there is not ever a top sheet for a cover. I am aware of the pros & cons regarding duvets and cleanliness so I'm hoping to avoid more discussion on the same.

Do any of you travel with something similar to this?

I belong to the only ever carry on luggage group so only necessary lightweight items are packed which leaves me very conflicted about packing a sheet or liner. T

Do any of you have experience with traveling with a travel sheet or liner? Would love to hear from you!

Thanks so much!

I am the same as you, Welcome to the International Duvet Haters Society. I normally sleep in my boxers, and even in the dead of winter, in Iowa, and heat set to 62 Deg F, I use only a top sheet.

My wife used to have a silk sleep sack, and you can get similar things in cotton or other materials as "Hostel" bedding, but I find those, and what you linked, confining

I finally conceded, and just pack either a single, or double, sized top sheet with me, The double is handy when traveling with the wife. In the end, it really does not add much, but the comfort level provided supreme. I will be in Germany the latter half of March, the sheet is already packed.

I was gifted a sleeping bag liner years ago after reading a bed bug scare story. This was for hotel stays, and perhaps it would have been better as a sleeping bag liner. In the bed, it just got tangled up whenever I turned over. I quickly decided to just sleep in the bed sheets and take my chances. If your issue is being too warm, I'd opt for a sheet rather than the sleeping bag liner, for sure.

I love a good down comforter but if the room is too warm, I take the comforter out of the duvet cover and sleep with just the cotton duvet cover over me. I can’t sleep with tucked in things.

I have a silk Dreamsack (purchased eons ago, somewhat similar to this more current model https://a.co/d/ij59Rwt) that I use camping during the summer - just enough of a top layer to feel covered up but not too hot. It folds up tiny and doesn't weigh a ton. I may consider taking it on my upcoming summer trip to Europe too. At quick glance there appear to be a number of different options as you found, though I'd suggest going with silk or a cotton blend as I think microfiber doesn't breathe as well.

I overheat with duvets, also. I just request a flat sheet from the hotel. Housekeeping is usually very accommodating.

We are like Mona and just take the duvet out of its cover and use the cover as a top sheet. We find this works quite well. If staying in a hotel for more than a night we might request a top sheet, but we are often in unserviced apartments or cottages.

I've taken the duvet out of the cover more times than I can remember. Sometimes even just the cover is more "cover" than I want!
