Thumbs up for the RS two wheel carry on

I just wanted to give a positive review for this carry on piece of luggage. I was very pleased with it for a seven day international trip. I used packing cubes and tried not to overpack and was able to keep my weight (including the bag) at 20.5 lbs going over. I didn’t have to use the expandable zipper for the trip over, but did on the way back as it helped with packing any souvenirs. I found this case to be much easier for me to lift up to the overhead bin compared to the TravelPro Elite case I used on a previous trip.

I am glad I bought this bag and would recommend it to those who are concerned with the weight of their carry on bags.

Not only do I love the RS Rolling Carry-On, I appreciate Rick Steves for standing behind their products when something breaks.
I can’t imagine packing without packing cubes. Keep everything organized.

I agree Horsewoofie. I remember reading on the forum that someone had a new bag sent out when theirs had a problem. That is commendable. My only minor concern is the looseness of the the extending handle in its two sockets. There is quite a bit of give there. The Travel Pro handle seems sturdier and not near as loose. Hopefully, it is just the way this one is built and won't cause any issues in the future. I really was pleased with it.

Mustlovedogs, the handle was the problem on the first suitcase. It lasted three RS tours and other trips but quit retracting. I’m glad that RS replaced it which exceeded my expectations for a six y/o bag. I’m being careful with the new one, dragging it up and down less stairs. The handle is wobbly but I think that’s how it’s made.

I know the RS philosophy is carry on, and thats mostly what we do, but occasionally, like when I need hiking poles, I need a larger bag. Given the very positive reviews on his bags and the excellent service, I wish they'd offer a larger bag.

I bought a set of collapsible hiking poles for a trip last year - they were approx. 16" when broken down and fit just fine.

Edited to add: I bought the original RS 22" rolling carry-on back in 2002 and it's still going strong.

I agree, it is a great bag! I had one from 2007 and it finally gave up a few years ago so bought a new one. It has been on numerous trips. The only issue I had was in Norway in August when we walked about 30 minutes in absolute torrential rain and the bag got wet. Not a big surprise though. When I got home I sprayed it with scotchguard and it is good as new.

I love my two wheeler bag from RS. and I love that when the handle quit sliding in an out, the company sent me a new bag! Great team there and great tours!
