Swimsuit needed for Best of Switzerland Tour

Wondering if I need to bring a swimsuit/microfiber towel for the Rick Steves Best of Switzerland tour. See the correspondence that came in an email regarding various things about our upcoming trip. If you have been on this tour let me know if it is needed. Thanks,

“This tour has opportunities for hiking in the Swiss Alps and visiting a spa, pool, or lake. We suggest bringing sturdy walking shoes with good traction (hiking boots aren't necessary), a swimsuit, and a lightweight microfiber towel.”

I’m thinking that if the tour operator tells you to bring this, you probably should. That said I’ve not done this tour , but I have done some other things in Switzerland and yes, I was glad I had a swimsuit.

Opportunities suggests the things that are optional.
Personally, I have no interest in swimming, if you will reqret missing the opportunity? Bring it.

don't have to get in the water if you don't want to. But if you do you will need those.

You might contact the Tour office at Rick Steves and ask why they recommend a swimsuit. ie, Where would you use it. I took a quick glance at the itinerary and don't see where you visit a spa or someplace you would need one. I have taken 9 tours in Italy, France and the U.K. and only needed a swimsuit once (in Italy) and it was a free day where I chose to go to the beach. I don't usually pack a swimsuit when I travel unless it is a beach vacation. I do take a lightweight microfiber towel to help get the moisture out of clothes I have hand washed so they dry more quickly. I find it very useful and worth packing.

You could take Sarah Murdoch's advice and bring a two-piece that can double as extra bra and underpants. A lot of the spas will be textile free, so you wouldn't need a swimsuit there.

Thank you all for your recommendations. My suitcase weighs 26 pounds. 😫 We will have warm weather, rainy weather and colder weather. So I may have to go textile free. I don’t think I can fit another thing in this suitcase. 😂
