My wife and I are very used to traveling in Europe with one mid-size checked bag and one carry-on (each). We are on the RS Turkey tour (9/26) and are thinking we might be better off to lighten up for that portion of our trip (after reading of the hills/steps/miles/heat!) Any recommendations for storing the mid-sized bags in Instanbul and picking them up on the way out? How about leaving them in the belly of the bus throughout the tour...is that allowed and/or safe?
I have been on a tour where a couple did just that. They left one bag in Deep storage on the bus.
We were actively invited to leave a bag in 'deep storage' on the bus when I did that tour in September '19.
But the lugging shouldn't be too much of an issue. the hills/steps/miles/heat is during the day. There was only one stay, in Antalya, where the bus had to drop us off for a cobblestone walk to the hotel. Less than 10 minutes and the air was cooler by the coast in the early evening.
