After reupholstering the chairs on its airplanes (with less padding), Southwest was left with plenty old material that is being made into duffles, handbags, etc.
What do you think & would you buy one?

I've seen photos of these bags. They look unique but I wouldn't buy one. The quality looks fine too, being they are leather, and the price if right for the material and craftsmanship.
Good luck on you other endeaver.
Leather is great but requires maintenance.
The older i get the less maintenance i want to do. Also, i have my own HD sewing machine so i could make my own, but if i did, it would be with cordura.
i wish them the best of luck since the are a local company and they are trying to keep stuff out of the landfill.
happy trails.
Given the "exposures" of airplane seats... yuck!!
As far as the leather having been on seats, Southwest hired ". . . Looptworks (who) employed disabled adults to deconstruct and clean the leather."
