I need recommendations for lightweight, packable, non-wrinkle skirts.
There are good shoppers here who will likely respond with more economic alternatives!
I have 2 $$ Ruti skirts (albeit on sale) I always take with me, that come just above my ankles (I'm 5'2") in black and a sort of brown/maroon. They have awesome super deep pockets hidden in the side pleats (I have kept my passport in one), and have an elastic waist. Very lightweight and when I roll these tightly for packing they never emerge with wrinkles.
I have a black jersey AYR pull on midi, too.
Pockets are definitely a plus!
I just took this one to England. First part of trip was cool - it remained rolled in the suitcase for a week. Needed it for the second part of trip. Unrolled without a wrinkle. Brand I didn't know, but quality is fine.

I also have a couple linen skirts I travel with.
I love the Crinkle Gauze Smocked Maxi skirts from Old Navy.
The rip skirt is my summer skirt whether I'm traveling or at home: https://ripskirthawaii.com/. Make sure you attach the velcro as if you were wearing it before tossing it in the washing machine. I prefer cotton teas instead of the shirts on their website to wear with the skirts that are not wrinkle free.
I have a rip skirt too. It is black and can wear lots of different shirts with it. I also wear it as a cover up for my bathing suit which is also black. I have a suit from lands end which looks much like a sleeveless top.
Another vote for Ripskirts! I took one to Portugal, and it was a winner! I’m taking 2 to New Orleans because it’s so hot. I’m an anomaly because I really like their bright prints. Right now all their older prints are 40% off, but sale ends at midnight EST. They’ve been having more sales lately, though, so I’d look for one around Labor Day.
Great recommendation for the rip skirt! I do have the longest version in black. In Morocco, over hiking leggings, I was able to be modestly covered for a home visit and long camel ride. (It would be great to have in a bag for cathedral or mosque visits, too.)
But it gaps when you sit? Mine does, anyway, up to the thigh. The longer length is like a pencil skirt and works fine while walking or standing but when I sit I have to constantly hold it closed - on a bus or train, for example.
Glad you are getting more responses! Athleta has options, too.
Or, try a skort. Gives the option of a skirt but with more protection, and most skorts do not wrinkle. I golf several times a week and really like the ones found at Costco.
I am also a skort fan because I love having a phone pocket in the shorts. I like dresses and skirts when it's hot, but I always feel like the whole garment is being pulled lopsided when I stick my phone in the pocket. When I'm traveling I usually have my phone in a small crossbody purse, so that's not an issue, but at home I often just have pockets, and I don't like buying clothes for travel that don't work for me in real life.
Title Nine makes great skorts with shorts that do not ride up. I wear them almost daily in the summer.
For traveling, I like their Dream Skort; it's a just-above-the-knee length on me (5'4"), does not wrinkle, and looks moderately dressy. Right now they just have them in the outlet, but they always eventually bring back new colors:

Another vote for the Ripskirt! Being a wrap it can tend to gap when you're sitting, so I use a scarf pin about half way down.
My favorite skirts with deep pockets and a protective zip pocket inside one of the deep pockets is a brand called "Macabi". They are for hiking actually and can be snapped up on the sides to make a shorter skirt and in the middle to make pants. The colors I have are: blue skies, midnight blue, light gray, and teal. But they also come in maroon, black, stone, bark, mocha, and maybe one or two other colors. Here is the website: https://www.macabiskirt.com/. I wear mine all the time and love them.
I recommend considering a skort as well. I have two, both in black. Lightweight, easy dry, wrinkle free, modest.
Also consider a merino wool dress. Wrinkle free, no stink (seriously), versatile. I took mine for 28 days in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic. Didn't have to wash it once (seriously.) I shop with WoolX but there are many good brands.
On my last two trips I packed a skort but only work it twice on both. I'm debating on bringing shorts this time when I travel to Germany since it's a hiking trip. Skorts are great for hot days.
Steele-Pierce, where did you get your merino dress?
Thank you everyone for your help. I am investigating all the suggestions!
A travel size bottle of Downey wrinkle release also comes in handy. (I try not to bring liquids when I travel but this has proved pretty useful.)
I was just browsing Costco and they have a couple of things right now. There is a Tilley skort, upf50, in tan or black on sale for $12.
Actually, I've never seen them have as many skirt/skort as they do right now. I think at least 6, all sorts of brands from denim to pleated tennis?
I'm not a skirt person, or much of a dress person either. I am pear shaped and hate it when my thighs rub or stick together. I stick to jeans/pants so I can't make a recommendation, but really they have a very wide selection right now.
Wool clothing is awesome for travel. It packs small, hand washes and dries overnight, and doesn't wrinkle. Strangely, the lightweight pieces are not hot to wear in warm weather. I have a number of pieces from the Woolx brand, and they have made packing so easy. They have dresses (I have the longer one) and skirts. Beware though. Once you start with the wool clothes for travel, it sort of becomes an addiction!
