I've looked at the RS Mini Carry-On ever since it came out. But now that it's 50 bucks and I can get free shipping with my tour kit, I'm really thinking about it. I'm happy with RS quality (RS Rolling Carry-on) so I expect that not be an issue. It's too small, too heavy for Europe but should work OK for shorter US and Iceland trips that I'm considering. I'm sitting on the fence since I really don't "need" another suitcase. What do you think?
Thanks!
Step back from the ledge, Horsewoofie. That bag weighs almost SEVEN POUNDS. For 24L capacity. No. My personal item holds 24L.
If you're talking the Ravenna Mini, yes 50 bucks is cheap.
But 6.85 pounds is heavy.
I have a "carry-on" size spinner, probably 22" high that weighs in around 8 pounds and I expect holds around 40 liters.
I think the Ravenna Mini will fit under some airline seats, like Southwest. Per the description, it holds about 24 liters.
So do lots of standard rolling underseaters that weigh much less.
I have a Verage underseater that holds 30-liters, weighs less than 5 pounds and fits under the seat on Southwest.
They have 24 liter models as well and so do other manufacturers.
2 extra pounds doesn't sound like much until you are lugging it around.
But $50 is cheap.
My 2 cents.
The RS 21" rolling bag fits Icelandair's carryon size. I have used it a handful of times flying to Iceland on that carrier. It fits easily into the sizing box. This is the bag I take on every European trip, FWIW.
When this bag is larger than what I need I use a couple of cheapie bags, one is 19" and the other is 20". The 19" ones were our kids from gosh, about 25+ years ago, lol!
I owned it (at full price!) but ultimately donated it. I especially liked the size, since as a carry-on only minimalist packer I could easily go for a week + with it.
It was very sturdy and the handle and wheels were fine.
I found the pockets extraneous but by using them for underwear or other items it created ample space in the interior for a large or two smooshed smaller packing cubes.
What I didn't like was the weight combined with only two wheels. It was difficult to pull along on carpeted surfaces and also had a tendency to suddenly tip over on airport floors, too. The weight wasn't a big deal for lifting up steps or into an overhead bin, but just made it cumbersome for some reason that in the end made me decide to no longer use it.
I could see it being very useful for car trips, though, with just short parking lot distances. And it's a great price!
Thanks everyone.
G3rryCee, thanks for taking the time to find the Amazon link, but it’s not what I’m looking for, too square. But I am stepping back from the ledge.
Mikliz97 and Khansen, it’s good to know that the Rolling Carry-On works on Iceland Air.
Bon voyage! Your review was exactly what I was looking for.
I’ll spend the $50 on dinner in London.

I'm glad the review was helpful! Now to be not helpful, here's what I replaced it with ( although currently on sale!):
https://biaggi.com/products/runway-hybrid-expandable-underseater?_pos=1&_sid=7c4080bd4&_ss=r
It's about the same size as the RS mini you were considering. I really, really liked the smaller dimensions for shorter trips, especially domestically, and has 4 wheels and is about 2 lbs lighter.
A nice and memorable dinner is a wise investment! :)
OP I like perusing this website when seeking a meal other than pub grub while in London.
Happy Travels
Claudia, thanks for the link! I’ll definitely be using it.
Bon Appetite!
I found this useful in deciding where to have my Sunday roast last month:

We sat in the bar at William IV because we got last-minute reservations. Excellent meal with charming waiter. A bit of a schlep.
I had hoped to go to Smith's in Paddington (where we were staying) to take advantage of their 90-minute bottomless wine, but it was not to be.
And a friend recommended Hoppers, a Sri Lankan restaurant with three locations. We didn't get to any of them.
Dinner sounds great!
Bon Appetit!
