Sept 15 weather village italy

Just need a reminder needed on clothing for this tour at this time of year, will I need to pack some warmer clothes? Usually packing cool skirts and short sleeves, we end at Lake Orta and the temperature averages look quite cool, tips from others who have done this tour at this time of year appreciated. Starting in Rome around first week of Sept before joining tour later in Padua so that will be very warm, its the tour part that I am a bit concerned about the weather , advice much appreciated

I was in Italy the first two weeks of Sept 2023 and it was hot as heck! Especially in Rome, they were calling it the "Infernal" City because it was so hot (but it was little cooler in Tuscany and along the Sorrentine peninsula.) I don't know if it was an unusual heatwave or the usual temps for that time of year, but it was almost insufferable in Rome that September.

I always take my rain jacket when I travel. If I'm worried about cool evenings I throw a cashmere cardigan in my carry on bag. Italy in September can be VERY hot. If you don't want to carry a sweater, I suggest a pashmina shawl. It can also double as a pillow on the plane, take the place of a bathrobe, etc., etc.

Hi, I will be in northern Italy during that time and have been there previously in September.

I always take my Columbia lightweight jacket for the plane, and it’s also good for cooler evenings. I attended an opera at the Verona Roman Arena one year, and even though it was a hot day, by mid-performance at night (11pm), I was glad I had read to bring along a cardigan sweater.

The lakes area can get cooler in the evening. I am usually wearing a scarf at dinner at 8pm when I’m at next door Lake Maggiore.

Packing extremely light, I can get by with a combo of my Columbia black jacket, a 32 Degree black long-sleeve scoop neck thin top (packs very small), and a nice scarf. Supplement it with your other clothes. Have a great time!

We did this tour last Sept. It never got too cold, a light jacket or rain shell were enough. That's not to say the weather might not be cooler this year, though. We did have rain or drizzle on two different days so be sure to prepare for that.

Another vote for a waterproof rain jacket. I’ve been to the Cinque Terre area on 4 RS tour including VI and it’s rained every time.

Will pack Rain shell, good advice and it packs small, always pack a few scarves think the good advice has me prepared, sorry to hear rain on every trip to Cinco terre was there on another RS tour and was perfect weather, you know what its like, you go to a place when its sunny and you cant picture it raining! Really being from the west coast I should know better.
