Those looking at this backpack might also want to consider the Oakley Rover Convertible, currently 50% off. I like Osprey myself, but the Oakley packs also look good to me.

The backpack on sale is not the latest (2025) model, but a good deal! You can compare the differences to see if they are important to you.

My son bought the previous version (which is currently on sale).
I think there are three major changes.
The new version moved the laptop zipper from the side to the top. To me, that's not a big difference. If anything I'm not a fan of putting a zipper near where weight-bearing straps are located.
The new version is using lighter weight materials including less beefy straps and using plastic hooks instead of buckles in some places. I actually prefer the older version.
Finally, the new version has gone back to mesh front pockets which may hold water bottles a little more easily. I also prefer the older version with the large open front pocket.
