Review - RS Packable Duffel

This is a handy bag - well designed. I bought two - for myself and a family member. It’s small - which is exactly how it was designed. It’s made for dirty laundry for one person (no dress clothes). When full, it will still fit easily in your standard carry on bag (20”-22” x 14” x 9”).

It also works well for a few groceries or a small gym/beach bag. There is a small outside zipper pocket with a fabric loop in it. You can clip keys to the loop with a carabiner. There is a zipper on the main compartment as well. Can be used as a flight underseat bag as well.

I haven’t used mine yet, but I did open it up after I received it. I didn’t have any problem putting it back into packable form.

REI Outlet Deal o'Day had Matador's ultralight packable backpack on clearance a few weeks ago for $12. Insubstantial, one could even use "gossamer", but it was well-reviewed by the one-bagger travel sites so I got two.

I forgot to mention - the handles straps are just long enough that you can slip the straps over your shoulder for shoulder carry, but still short enough that you can hand carry the bag without dragging it on the ground. I’m really liking this bag. I can get the duffel folded back up into a small pouch with just a little effort.

People actually refold these style of bags??? Just stuff them back in the pocket - takes about 2 secs - takes no more space!

@Llssie, that’s exactly what I did. Easy peasy.

Folding response.
Invert the small pocket. Stretch out the remaining fabric and straps. Place the inverted pocket on top, away from you - with the bag end close to you. Fold over the left side and right side roughly in thirds. Then, just roll up the bag from bottom to the inverted pocket (top) and stuff it in.
