I just posted quite a long trip report for 31 days in Croatia and Slovenia, September 23 to October 23. We started with a week of swimming in the Adriatic along the Dalmatian coast and ended with hiking trails in Triglav national park in the Julian Alps in cold weather. I won't copy/paste the whole thing here because there are some great comments on the Trip report regarding packing, to which I have added multiple Amazon links for things that worked well for both my husband and me.
