My new -and first- TB bag arrived today!

This “enablee” - I am making up a new word bc it definitely fits me- is thrilled to say my first Tom Bihn bag arrived today! It is so pretty and looks like just the right size for what I want to use it for. I bought the Side Hustle in Aubergine Ballistic/ wisteria 200 Halcyon. It’s such a beautiful color combination. I really am impressed with the workmanship. What I really am happy with is the shape/depth dimension. I was worried that it might be too bulky and that I should have gone with the smaller side kick, but it is more narrow in its depth and sits very close to my side, almost conforming to it.

I wanted a crossbody that I could take on as a personal item when traveling, then use as an everyday purse, have enough room for a small water bottle, maybe mini umbrella, snack or small lunch if we were out, a small journal, maybe tablet, travel documents/ plans, other normal purse stuff- phone, small wallet with passport, etc., without it being too crammed and subsequently jutting way out from my side. I think this is going to be just right. I can see I may become a convert…sorry bank account! I need to add the little organizers now that I have seen it is going to stay.

It’s appropriate that our weather here is calling for storms tonight. The Mardee TB Vortex is right on cue. :)

I've just been out to the website and can see why this company's offerings can become an obsession. I'm almost hooked, may well be soon.

The Side Hustle is a little marvel. But I'm sure you'll need the Sidekick fairly soon as well. And after that...

Oh! It may be calling my name, too. And for all those of you who call me an enabler, please consider that I am also an enablee as well! I just ordered three new long-sleeve knit tops from Quince because they happened to catch my eye on Facebook, and now I will be running over to the Tom Bihn website to check out the Side Hustle.

I mentioned before that I have the Side Effect, which is the smallest one, but honestly, it's really too small for me. It's still nice to have, though, for little trips here and there where I don't need to carry much.

DavidM, do you own one? Boy, I went back and forth on the two. A few things caused me to go with the SH. I loved the Aubergine color, but wasn’t as sold on the combos left in stock for the SK. Mars Red was a contender, but I didn’t see myself with a reddish bag; the aubergine is more to my liking. The Raspberry on the SK is pretty, but I didn’t like the orange interior as much. What can I say? It may be silly, but the color combo tastes definitely swayed me!

Secondly, I have a vertically positioned cross body that is virtually the same size as the SK. It’s a theft-proof Sherpani. While I like it and can foresee it going with me to other spots abroad as an everyday carry, I found it didn’t hold enough to be considered for use as a personal item for a trip. I had to take something bigger. (like the backpack) Now my decision is going to be whether I can just get by with this and not need to take the additional Roka Backpack.

mardee, my daughter loves Quince. And she’s been enabled by you through me! I actually bought her carryon suitcase from them a few Christmases ago. It’s like an Away dupe. Much less expensive. She loves it.

I hope you like this bag! And I agree....with TB the color can make or break! If you want the SK, I recommend getting on the TB mailing list. They notify when new colors have dropped or are back in stock. My experience has also been you need to buy it when you see it or, yes, that color combo will be gone.

I, too, prefer the horizontal orientation of these bags. Easier to see what's what.

My first TB purse arrived Saturday! It is the Rogue Sacoche and I got it in orange. It will be fun to try out!

Mardee--I love Quince. I am wearing one of their dresses right now, the gauze sleeveless swing dress in hot pink! I also have it in linen in navy, red and a tiny black and white checked. I also have two tops, the European linen cropped tank, in black and white. Here is the link to the gauze one that I have on right now. https://www.quince.com/women/100-organic-cotton-gauze-sleeveless-swing-dress?color=amaranth-pink&size=s&placement=orderSum_inShip_image&utm_medium=email&utm_source=transactional&utm_campaign=email_orders_orderDelivered&utm_content=email_orders_orderDelivered&email=melissa.alleman89%40gmail.com&campaignid=14702224&templateName=recs_pfy&c=email_orders_orderDelivered

I have the Side Effect in aubergine with wisteria interior and it is a great color combo. I started with a SE in cloud which is a light bluish gray and I carry it in the spring/summer and then I decided I needed a darker color for winter and when I went to order I ended up ordering 2! One in the aubergine and one in the new spectron black fabric too. I love the fabric, subtle sheen, sort of the little black dress version of a very practical small bag. It is a small bag but I love it and it’s my everyday bag now, at home or when I travel. So light I barely feel it when I’m wearing it full time.

And Pam is right, if you see an item in the color you want, don’t hesitate. I don’t think they run a big inventory and it takes them awhile to get things back in stock. I love their solid fabric 3 D organizers and they’ve been completely out for several months now.

Can personally vouch for Quince linen pants and cashmere cardigans. Again thanks to a tip from Mardee on this forum. And I think the Tom Bihn entry drug is their Travel Tray, even more than their great bags.

Hahahah....that is so funny and was definitely true for me! My name is Pam and I'm hooked on Tom Bihn products but only the pink, blue and purple ones. Maybe the Kelpie green. And Gray.

The moss Rogue Sacoche arrived. Love the color and the inner pockets. A good option for a light-weight crossbody bag.

I’ll trade out the strap with a fabric strap that won’t slip off my shoulder—I harvest them from secondhand LeSportsac 3-Zip crossbody bags from ThredUp etc. (Prefer the lighter cotton canvas strap and less bulky clips.)

For carryon airplane travel, my go-to Tom Bihn stuff is Side Kick (with 2 double swivel carabiners to clip it to seat pocket), 3D clear organizer bag as a 311 bag (with a tether strap to clip it to my Pilot or S19 as it goes thru security), small clear zipper pouch for meds etc, travel tray, small pouches like Ghost whale or clear pencil pouch, Pilot for personal item. Pilot is an ideal personal item, but I use a Synapse 19 backpack if I need more space.

For RV trips I use a vintage Breve for my iPad, a vintage Empire Builder briefcase (stays upright), and a Side Kick kitted out for hiking (also with LeSportsac strap).

One year, TB sent out small origami swans (made of Dyneema scraps) for the secret holiday gift. I take that too. Peace, wherever I go. :-)

Oh my...that is a brilliant idea! Going right now to see if I put a Le Sportsac in the charity shop pile or if it's still in the under-the-bed storage bin. THANK YOU!!!

I’m a Quince fan, too. I splurged and bought several items from there earlier this year- I’ll do anything to avoid shopping in stores. Returns are easy, too, if you find that what you bought doesn’t work. I’m intrigued by the TB website and their bags. I don’t have any trips planned for this year, but I’ve added their website to my favorites. I also like some of the clothes from Pact and their pants have pockets. I bought a pair from Quince that I love on me but they don’t have pockets. :(

Mustlovedogs, I've just found your reply to my comment. I had trouble accessing the forum in the last couple of days. Yes, I have a Side Hustle and a Sidekick. I probably use the latter more but the Hustle is ideal for anything magazine-size, or for carrying my small Chillys bottle (260 ml) upright.

I'm not normally easily influenced. I sometimes try things that others recommend, but end up returning most things because they're not quite right for me, but oh that Travel Tray. I have the small, which has worked well to hold my few bedside necessities, but now I want the large just because I love the small so much. I check the colors every now and then. If they ever bring back the pink I'm going to order both sizes. Actually, if anyone ever sees the pink come back, please message me so I don't miss it!
