More Deuter

My wallet may be in danger this time. I found the Deuter Aviant 40 liter Duffel online at Enwild.com and on Amazon (on Amazon - you have to click on the 60 liter bag, then select the 40 liter bag). This is the bag I have been looking for. There is a 35 liter bag. But, it's not clear on the website that it can be used backpack style. Only looks shoulder strap and grab handle style.

I like that Deuter is more discreet in its branding/labeling. Now, instead of looking like an American tourist - I can look like a German tourist.

For the 40L duffel deuter has this " The stowable shoulder straps mean that the travel bag also functions as a backpack. This feature is perfect for longer distances. With the packaging, which doubles as a small backpack, "

For the 35L this is the comparable description---The straps are adjustable so the bag can be worn over the shoulder or on the back.

This might be the way to get a clear answer---https://www.deuter.com/fi-en/contact

Happy shopping!

There's nothing wrong with the tortuga. It's just that I am a somewhat short person. I can't handle a pack of 45 liters or longer than 20" well. I try to find packs that are about 19 inches and 37 - 40 liters.
In some ways, having strict criteria eliminates a lot of options and makes pack shopping easier. Thanks Joe32 for the link.

Hi Joe32,
I checked out the straps on the 35 liter bag. They aren't the best for backpack style carry. Only meant for a short haul up a staircase or something like that. The straps on the 40 liter are significantly better for backpack style carry.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the humor Bogiesan. Patagucci wants everyone within 60 ft to see its name. The North Face is bold in its billboarding. Yet, TNF places its logo on the end caps of duffles. So, if it's on your back - the logos face the ceiling or floor. Still, not subtle.

I like the red airplane on the Tom Bihn logo. I would go even more subtle with just TB or Bihn and the plane.
