I knew that Scottvest made vests with a lot of pockets, but OMG this one has 42 of them! You'll put stuff in there and not see it again for 3 years, if at all! Which begs the question, is it possible to ever have too many pockets?
I did have one vest, can't remember if it was Scottevest or Exofficio, in which an item moved from a pocket into the vest lining, and it took forever to retrieve it. I think it happened when the vest was folded and was turned upside down. Whatever. Scottevest will have sales, but the prices are still a lot. Sometimes I buy this brand on EBay, from folks who used the items once or twice. Thanks for posting.
phred,
Thanks for sharing that. It looks like a very useful product, and the fact that it can be used for photographers is of interest to me. However I'm not sure if I'm willing to tolerate the steep price, which will be even higher after the currency conversion.
This would be super useful on flights with weight restrictions on cabin bags!
Not so good for people (like me) with bad memories. I have enough trouble finding my keys when I'm only wearing 6 pockets.
I cannot imagine needing or using one of those for normal travel situations. But that's just me. And, aren't those terribly hot to wear all day?
There are the Featherweight versions for summer. I use one of these vests and don't carry a purse. I love having free hands, and use the inside zipper pockets for my wallet and valuables. There is also a large pocket across the back, which is great for a thin rain poncho. Safe travels!
Thanks, Pat. Not sure even featherweight would work for me, since I tend to run on the hot side. But I like the idea of being hands free.
Can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday. For me, having42 pockets would be like putting things in a garbage disposal. Sorta like using a sledge hammer to kill a roach.
I've used them for a few years. Like any other article of outerwear you dont have to wear them all day, every day. I use mine in transit. I put everything important (pens, phone, passport, wallet, keys, boarding pass, etc.) in the vest, and it goes in the bin for screening while I walk through security. On the train, everything important is secured. And if you think they look too wonky, they also have hoodies, shirts, and jackets with similar features.
I bought one once. I used it a few times and then I gave it away. Just didn’t work for me.
I see they have now added RFID. Another waste of money.😂
