Is he new competition to Rick Steves?
“You’ve got a (travel) friend.” Maybe Carole King gave him this hanger tip ;-)
Still a musician, he doesn’t want to be awakened before noon.
Bonus tip: if the hanger hook was twisted so that it faced up, you’d have a coat hook as well as a curtain clip.
I don't usually take advice from James Taylor, but I really like & will use this one. I carry a clothes pin for this, but this will probably work even better with long, heavy curtains.
...Or a binder clip like these

Ha ha, that's funny! I do like James Taylor and always have, and I think I've heard this tip before, but regardless, I'll credit him for it and probably use it in the future.
He's a Handy Man indeed.
Great tip and I have used it for a while now. I have hair clips that work well too.
I have done this often!
For me it depends on whether I need the hotel hangers with clips to hang my clothes or not.
Also if I'm on the ground floor and the drapes are totally inadequate, like no where close to providing privacy much less total shade.
I usually have some large binder clips along for other purposes that will do the job for this. I bring bright colors so as not to leave them behind.
Let The Sun Shine, Let Sun Shine, Let the Sun Shine in……
Who sleeps till noon when on vacation, not us that’s for sure. I love to be awaken in the morning by a beautiful stream of sunlight.
I'm with you, Barbara. Although I do hate having a huge lamppost shining in the room all night through the curtain gap.
Yes CWSocial, a lamplight and sun rays are not the same.
Lamp Light? How about a bold, red brightly lit Golden Corral sign. Nothing against GC. I eat there regularly.
Where's my song, James? I want a new song out of this! "Do me wrong, do me right; tell me lies but turn off the light; save your goodbyes for another time; but use those clips on the curtains and shut out the light...." Haha. If this goes viral, I claim copyright! ;P
