I'll be going to London at the end of May/early June, and I'm trying to get an idea of how much to pack. Last spring, I visited at the same time and brought one of those open cardigans in a Tencel knit (I think LL Bean used to call them Indispensable Knits), as well as one long-sleeved tee, and three 3/4 length sleeved tees. I packed three pairs of pants (all knit, all black) and wore one on the plane.
I'm going to be staying for 10 days this time, and I figured I could fit a trip to the laundromat in. I can handwash my socks and "unmentionables" and hang them up in the bathroom to dry. And I regretted not bringing a cardigan last time so I will bring that along in addition to the jacket.
I'm wondering if I should pack less b/c I'm doing laundry. I figured if I went to the laundromat on Day Five, that might be ideal. On the other hand, I'm thinking, "What will I wear to the laundromat if everything is dirty on Day Five?"
Silly question, or maybe not so silly?
Puts me in mind of the old Levi's commercial from the 1980s, where the guy goes to the laudromat in his favorite jeans, takes them off, and sits in his skivvies while the washer is running. Shows you how old I am!
