Go-Go Gadget Pouch by Rick Steves

My husband never uses this for electronics. So, I converted the (size large) pouch into a first aid kit (FAK) for his car. Enough room for some extras like a small flashlight and spool of para cord. The side mesh pockets are nice for organization of supplies.

If buying this as a travel FAK, I recommend size small. Alternatively, GoX small toiletry kit in bright color or just about any zip-top pouch. The vinyl mesh zip-top pouches or similar lay flat and are light weight. Easy to see and access first aid contents.

Instead of buying generic bandaids, etc., Amazon and drug stores have a J&J, 80 piece, blue plastic FAK for about $10. Better supplies. Combine with a pouch and leave any extra supplies at home.

I have a couple of the GoX small toiletry bags. I keep all my charging cables, adapters, etc in one and keep it in my daypack when I fly. For road trips it goes in my purse. I have the bright orange so it is easy to spot.

I may need to turn the other into a first did kit. Great idea, thanks!

Sun-Baked, your acronyms really threw me for a minute, but I finally figured out that J&J was Johnson and Johnson and FAK was First Aid Kit. Although after I thought of that, I saw it in the second sentence where you had spelled it out.

That's actually a good idea and I might check into that. Although right now I have enough band-aids to last for the next five years, so I may need to wait a bit. 😊

ETA: Well, the more I look at it, the more I like it, so I'm going to go ahead and order it. It's got pretty much everything I take, but in small sizes. I like that. You just sold me!

Mardee,
FAK.s are easy to make. Usually, you can just look around the house and collate a kit. May have to add a few items. Customize it to one’s needs.
For the $10 - it’s hard to beat J&J kit. May need a different pouch though and a few extras.

Most people don’t need paramedic kits. Perhaps if traveling to a remote and risky place. Need to know how to use whatever supplies are in kit.

If you have young grandkids, give them your old, excess band-aids to play with. Kids under age 4 like playing with bandaids, especially colorful ones.

Not for flying!
More acronyms! Victorinox classic keychain (SAK = Swiss Army knife) is great for FAK.s.
(Small, scissors, toothpick, tweezers, nail file, and small blade). About $25.
