Found a really lightweight, not too big crossbody

I don't really need a new bag, but this one looked interesting and was really inexpensive.
It arrived yesterday, very quickly, and looks even better in person. The website doesn't show it, but there is a gusset at the bottom, so there is depth as described.
Yes, the company name is silly.

Looks like a nice bag! I looked for it on Amazon and although the price is much higher than on the website there are some better pictures of the interior.

Oh, I like that bag! Which color did you get?

I also like the Crescent Crossbody, especially after I watched her video. That looks pretty cool!

BTW, I love the company name, but I can get pretty silly at times, lol!

Do I need another bag??? Of course not. Regardless, I just bought 2 bags. I got the lightweight crossbody you mentioned, Liz, but also bought the Crescent Crossbody, which I really like (got in it the blue with grey trim, and ordered it from the website (free shipping since it's over $50). But I did get 15% off, so that helped.

Thanks for weighing it Liz! And laughing that Mardee might bite, hahaha!!

So, yes, now need to weigh my current Baggallini crossbody and see how much it weighs....

This won't replace the Baggallini "modern pocket" I use during the day while on a tour. It's sturdy and just right. I particularly like the slip pocket for my phone.

I will be testing the BTTM as a replacement for my current breakfast/dinner bag. I like to have my phone, lip balm, and tissues, etc. in a bag small enough to wear ouside of the touring day.

If only I could stop finding things that may work better than perfectly fine things I already have. sigh.

Thanks Liz for the weight check. That is impressive. My travel purse is 6 ounces and I hardly notice wearing it, it’s so light compared to previous ones. But it’s only 1.7 L. Yours weighs less and will carry twice as much. I actually prefer the smaller size but I don’t carry a water bottle which I know would be a deal breaker for a lot of people. This bag would accommodate one I’m sure.

I don't think even a smallish water bottle would fit in the bag. Even with the gusset at the bottom, it has no depth at the top.

That bag is super tempting since the size and shape is perfect, but I worry about the thin strap. I typically keep a charger in my purse when I'm traveling and the weight would probably cause it to dig into my shoulder. If the strap was wider, I think I'd love it!

I've been looking at the ORI London bags since someone (I believe it was Jean) mentioned them on another thread. The Kennington is a little too big, but the circular bags just aren't my style, so I guess my search continues.

Well, to be honest, I still might order the baboon to the moon bag. For that price, maybe I can figure out a work around for the strap, and it is super cute.

KRS, saw something on Etsy that might be worth looking into. I can’t link it for some reason, but they are a padded sleeve with snaps, come in a variety of colors and prints. About $14. I just searched for “strap purse snap cover” and the site popped up. Owner name “Adservio” is based in Texas. Gets good reviews. Hope this helps.

I agree that the thin strap and the thin profile of the bag mean that it isn't a good choice for lots of content. Perfect for my intended use.

How did I never know about the purse strap cushions? That was the final push over the edge for me. Like LIZinPA, I prefer a smaller cross body bag most of the time and I love the navy color, the light weight and the way it can widen at the bottom, so I ended up ordering it this morning. I think once I get it, I'll try it out for a while. Who knows, maybe I won't even need an extra cushion on the strap, but if I do, it seems like they'll be easy to get.

I'm still considering the ORI London Kennington sling bag too though. :)

I have always purchased Travelon or Pacsafe bags for their security features, but I wanted something lighter in weight and a little larger for our upcoming travel. I ordered the Sherpani Vale from Amazon and I am very pleased with it. It is lightweight and a nice medium size (~12 x 10 x 4 inches), but can also "convert" into a small tote (~12 x 14 x 4 inches) simply by unfolding the flap. It comes in a variety of colors and has the security features that I was looking for--locking zippers, a 'leash' for chairs, slash proofing and a strap that can't be cut. The price was comparable to similar bags advertising as 'secure'.

all I can say is that you folks are all a bad influence on me :~) !! decided to give the Sherpani Vale a try. BTW, currently 25% off with coupon at Amazon, for those who aren't opposed to shopping on that site.

I just got the bag that Liz bought in the the mail AND I LOVE IT!!! Really, it's adorable, SO lightweight, and yet holds a decent amount thanks to the gusset (3.2L).

I love the two zippered pockets, which are really handy, and the 2 open pockets in front. And for $16.14 (I got 15% off for signing up for their mailing list, which I then unsubscribed from ), it was a steal!

Unfortunately, I did not like the 2nd bag I ordered (the Crescent Crossbody) as much so I'm returning that. It looked really cool in the video I saw, but in real life, it didn't quite work out as well. The return process is pretty easy, although there is a $15 handling fee, which includes the return postage. The bag was $84 with the 15% off, and I would have gotten the whole amount back if I would have accepted a store credit. However, I am not sure I will order there again so I opted for the fee and the refund to my credit card.

I'm so glad you like it Mardee!

Me?
I've re-thought my travel bag game. While looking through my closet, I found the larger Baggallini I had used before deciding I needed to use something lighter. I always loved the stripe pattern on it because it used the colors in my travel wardrobe. Picking it up it felt pretty light. Hmmm. Turns out it's 2 oz. !ighter than the smaller replacement!

Now that I know the smaller amount of stuff that fit in the smaller Baggallini was really all I needed during a day, I'll go back to the striped bag. With less stuff.

I'll use the BTTM bag as a casual at home bag, and stop putting too much stuff in the small breakfast/dinner bag I thought needed to be bigger.

Well so much for that idea. I got an email from baboon to the moon today telling me the bag I ordered a week ago is out of stock and they don't know when/if they will have it in navy. The offered me the choice of another color, but when I looked online, they only offered black or grey and I really liked the navy, so I responded asking them to refund me. Darn.

lol, same for me.

A quick follow up to my dilemma. Baboon to the Moon refunded my money for the bag they no longer have in stock and gave me a 10$ credit that never expires. The problem is I liked this particular bag for this particular price, so probably won't use it, but I thought it was a nice gesture anyway.

Now LIZinPa has me wanting a smallish nylon rectangular navy colored bag though, so if anyone sees one out there, let me know!
