Enabler alert- lightweight no wrinkles shirt

Sharing what I found to be a perfect travel shirt: lightweight, not see through, dries overnight.. best part when it's damp twist it into a rope shape to maintain the crinkles. Looks nice layered over a tank top for more casual look.

UK sizing can be a bit tricky. Can sometimes be found in the States at Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomingdales. If you're traveling in Scotland some of the shops there carry it.

Hey thanks! I've been searching for cute, lightweight, long sleeved NO iron shirts at a bunch of places, just ordered this from Nordstrom. They have other cute shirts from Seasalt Cornwall as well, but very few left.

I discovered seasaltcornwall when in UK. I love it when I can find pieces in the charity shops. Unfortunately, I gave in to new items at their Salisbury shop.

This shirt looks great!

Beautiful shirts. They look very functional, too. I hadn’t heard of this brand before now. Thanks for sharing! It’s over budget for me new if bought here in the US right now, though. I’m looking at the online preowned sites and may check out the shop they have in Oxford when we are there.

I've got quite a few Larissas and travel with them all the time - I'm a big fan (I love wearing cotton). However, just a small note: in my experience, they won't generally dry completely overnight when tied in a knot / twisted tightly while still wet and left for longer to get the crinkle effect - I've been known to take a shirt to my next stop in a plastic bag to be on the safe side. Earlier untwisting speeds up the drying time but reduces the crinkles, which is not ideal if that's the look you want, so I'd recommend a test wash or two before packing.

Thanks for this enabling review! I bought a few corduroy skirts from Seasalt Cornwall when I visited Cambridge in January, and I found the clothing to be good quality. I really like some of the Larissa shirt's prints, so I might place a mail order soon.

Thank you Snoozy for the suggestion to test wash & crinkle drying times. I don't tend to twist the shirt to the extent it was when it was purchased and I do let it dry a bit before twisting.. and I'm in a semi-arid climate.

Snoozy's recommendation for testing dry times is spot on especially if you plan to pack this shirt with the intention of washing at night & wearing the following morning.

Gotta love the helpful people on this forum!

@sandancisco
Happy you are pleased with your new shirt!

I have also purchased the Larissa shirt from House of Bruar. They always mail promptly and I usually have my purchase in 7-10 days.

I've noticed Larissa shirts seem to sell out quickly so I haunt Seasalt's website for new releases.

It’s another episode of The Larissa Shirt Show! I decided I didn’t want to wait till we got to the UK to look for one and the price point here was a bit out of budget for me right now, so off to see if there was anyone selling a gently used one online. I hedged a bit because I wasn’t sure of the sizing, but lucked out on eBay and purchased what looks to be an almost new one for $28! The seller was located in the US, too, so shipping was minimal. It came yesterday and fits perfectly. Relief and happiness abound lol. Snoozy, I went ahead and washed it and twisted to dry. It took about 18 hours to be completely dry, but that was drying in an air conditioned house.

It has so many colors, I think it’s going to be a great addition to a travel wardrobe. Thanks again Diane for sharing!

Sandancisco, I got lucky on it for sure. I don’t usually buy secondhand online clothes, but my daughter does and has gotten some great things. I thought I would try it for this and it worked out well, especially since I was able to get the correct size. The house of bruar looks like a great place to go to for these. Their shipping isn’t too bad either. I don’t think this will be my last one! I really like the feel and look of these.

I just wanted to add that this shirt ran large, so I've returned it to Nordstroms & ordered a smaller size in a pink flowered print.

On sizing, I'd say the Larissa generally runs large in the body but fairly true to size across the bust if that's a consideration. (In other Seasalt shirts, the Rushmaker - which is great for summer travel in terms of drying time but probably needs an iron [or a hair straightener on the collar in a pinch] - definitely runs small).

On drying time, about 18 hours is what I get here too - I normally untwist a bit after 8/10 hours if I'm in a hurry or else the middle won't dry. The only time I've ever reworn after an overnight wash/dry was in the recent heat wave where I had it outside on the balcony and it didn't get below 25C. Mileage may differ in Sicily or Athens in August. 😉

FYI: If anyone is plus size, there are quite a few options in 18/20 and up (UK sizes) in the current sale on the international Seasalt website. There's also the odd 8, but alas, not much on sale in the middle.
