Eddie Bauer Travel Shirt on Sale at Costco

Costco has the Eddie Bauer Departure Travel shirt for women listed on its website for $16.98 including shipping. Available in white, coral and light lavender. I bought a grey one last year and love it. Very versatile, dried quickly and doesn’t wrinkle. Sold out quickly last year.

Thanks CindyP. I just ordered one in each color. Some added benefits: UPF 50+ sun protection and moisture wicking.

Cindy, thanks for posting. Just ordered the white and lavender. I have a similar blouse by ex officio in white. Even on sale it cost a lot more. And with the white color, in matches bed sheets, so I left it in Agrigento, Sicilily, and the hostess mailed it to Cefalu. And, would you believe on our last trip, to Portugal, I left it in Coimbra, and they mailed it to Lisbon for me. It is becoming a very expensive blouse! There will be a whole lot less risk when I bring the Costco blouse on vacation!

Terry and Jules-Hope you both like them. Jules-You may want to take the lavender one on your next trip and leave the white one home!

Thanks! I just ordered the white one - I also ordered a Barcalounger at the same time that I happened to see. Such is life.... 😂

Question for those of you who have this shirt – I liked the look of this shirt online, so I went to the Eddie Bauer store to try it on for size before ordering one, and the shirts (all on hangers) were very wrinkled and had sharp fold marks. Did yours “unwrinkle” after washing?

I haven’t had problems with wrinkling at all with this shirt. I wash cold/gentle in the washing machine and hang to dry.
Edited to add that Costco has a generous return policy if you find it doesn’t work out for you.

@CindyP - That’s good to know. Thank you!
I’ll give the shirt a try. :-)

Hey, CindyP! Great to see you posting! Thanks for the heads up on the shirts. I bought the pants not too long ago and was totally happy with them. Hope all is well with you!

Received my travel shirts today. I like them, and the price can't be beat! The shirts are very slightly different in weight/feel of the fabric. The white feels lighter and more like my ex-officio shirt. The lavender is just a bit heavier. It's fine I'll keep it, but I typically wear that type shirt over a dress or top as sun protection, so the lighter the better. If one is going to be lighter/cooler, I'm glad is the white. I had my husband feel them, as well, and he agreed, the lavender is ever so slightly heavier.

Mine arrived yesterday as well. I forgot, I ordered the white and the coral. I ordered two sizes in white, as I was unsure. The smaller size was good, but unfortunately the coral one I ordered was the larger size so the two will get returned. I might see if the coral is still available in my correct size as I like the color. I was unsure from the photos, but it is nicer in person.

I received the white one I ordered and it looks very nice. The sleeves are a tad long but I'm on the short side, so that's par for the course. I'll probably wear them rolled up most of the time anyway.

I ordered the white one as well. Interesting enough, the fabric on the white one is slightly heavier than the fabric on the grey one I ordered last year. Plus it has an odd little pocket on the right side bottom that the grey one does not. I think they must have changed the specs a bit but overall I still like it and think it was a good buy,

Thanks for the heads up on this bargain. I too ordered these shirts in white and lavender. I sized up one from my usual size for layering. The white is much thinner fabric than the lavender but since I'm planning to layer I think that will be ok. Both have a tiny weird side pocket near the hem - what on earth is it for? There is no zipper, and it's too small for a phone. Other than that perplexing design element, I am hopeful these will be in rotation for my fall trip, but I'll be testing them out over the summer to be sure.

@CindyP - I ordered this shirt from Costco on your (and others) recommendation and I love it! I got it in coral and in white, and I like them so much I just ordered it in purple as well.
Several of you mentioned the strange little pocket near the hem – looks like the right size for a credit card or transit pass, but I would never use it for that since it is not secured with a zipper or anything. The only way I can see myself using it is for a quarter coin for a cart at ALDI. lol

And I would not have been brave enough to order white if not for @Pam in Coeur d’Alene. Not that I plan to intentionally rub against any dirty walls lol, but it’s good to know that if I do, it might be ok. :) And thanks to Jules, I’ll be careful not to lay it on a bed with white sheets!

Thanks to you all!

That is hilarious! The forum is so helpful in many ways!!!

I missed this thread when Cindy first posted it as I was traveling in Yellowstone, the land of no cell service or WIFI, lol.

Samatudd...did yours have wrinkles? I just saw your question upthread and will say that when I got mine last year from Eddie Bauer it did have lots of fold wrinkles in it. They did not come out in the wash or dryer or I washed it again and hung it to dry with no luck. I finally wound up ironing it...which is when I discovered my iron which had not been used in YEARS was full of rust so the steam came out red. Rewashed, switched irons, ironed with a cloth in between and got the wrinkles mostly out. I can still sort of see them when hanging but I don't notice them when I have it on.

@CindyP, funny, because the white one I ordered is lighter weight than the purple/lavendar. I have not washed either, but my experience with the white Ex Officio, is that it washes up beautifully. Obviously, during travel it gets dingy, especially around the cuffs, I usually just get by, but a few times I've washed just the elbows down on the sleeves. Unbuttoned, the white one is just great over dresses, and other outfits. As my daughter said, "its so in style"!

I’m glad everyone seems to be pleased with the shirt. I’m now thinking I should buy another color! Jules M: I’ve never been known for my style sense so it’s great to know I might actually be wearing something stylish!

did yours have wrinkles?

Pam - yes, mine also had wrinkles and fold marks. I did the same as you – wash, dryer, then wash, hang dry - still wrinkled. Then ironed (I rarely iron anything, so it was just dumb luck not to have iron rust) – some fold marks still show after ironing. But, like you, I notice it more on the hanger than I do when wearing it, so I decided not to worry about it because I really like the shirt. I’m usually a bit wrinkled anyway, so I guess that’s my style! lol

HAHAHA!! MIne too! Plus when I look down it's hard to see any residual wrinkles with my bifocals so....there you go! I will add that no new wrinkles were added after it was packed for travel.

Oh Pam, I'm sorry for your misfortune but that made me bust out laughing! I'm glad you got it out though!

Btw, if anyone has set-in wrinkles, press them with some vinegar and water - about 1 part vinegar to about 3 pts water. Don't put it in the iron but just spray it on the wrinkles and then press with the hot iron (but not too hot!). It will make it much easier to get them out.

I beg to differ with you on that, CindyP! I'm hooked up with some very cool shoes (a great pair of wedges from Colleens and my now favorite Tree Runners) because of you! And, I always think you look amazing! Hope to see you again soon, chica! ❤️
