And how much can you pack in it, compared to the other rolling carryon? All the reviews I can find here are 2016-2018. I have one in my cart, as it is on sale through today, but am looking for a more recent purchase? Have past problems been fixed? Or has the quality continued to decline?
I am sorry to have missed your question and hope my experience is still helpful. I think mine was from around 2021?
My favorite thing was the size. Despite a lot of pockets that seemed extraneous (vs a simple "clamshell" style) it held more than you would think it could. The zippers were sturdy, and as a light packer I could last about a week.
I just didn't like the handle. I'm only 5'2" and it was too long unless I dragged it behind me, leading to not liking the only two wheels (vs 4), either. Despite its smaller size it was a pain to lug/drag in crowded spaces like airports.
Again, that could just be me, the quality was great
(I ended up giving mine away. )
I bought one in 2017. The telescoping handle broke in less than two weeks. I was on an RS tour. They refunded my money as I had to get a new case while in Europe and sending me a replacement to my home wouldn't have worked.
It holds basically the same as the other rolling carry on.
I have a first generation bag, have had no problems with it, but it has only been on a few flights. The key is to think of the lid as one big packing cube. i put clean shirts and pants in it and roll underwear and place in the curved portions around the edges.
In the main compartment socks go in the lower portion around in divots created by the handles and my too large, not going thru TSA toiletry bag lays on top of that. This gives me the top half of the bottom side for discretionary items. It easily carries enuf stuff for a week
