Creating a virtual travel wardrobe in Apple Notes

I've been posting a lot of stuff lately from the WSJ but they really do have some interesting articles. This latest one in the Tech section shows how you can use the Notes app (sorry, Android users) to create a virtual capsule wardrobe for packing complete with photos on your Notes app.

I use Notes for a lot of stuff, but never thought of doing this, and I've decided I will start and see how it goes. So here's the first unlocked article. Scroll down to the photo of the blue chambray shirt, and then read the article below it titled, "Create a visual packing list in the Notes app."

That article links you to another unlocked article that gives more details and examples of how to create a virtual wardrobe (travel or otherwise) in Notes. I'm sure it's not for everyone but it looks like fun to me so I might try it. :-)

If you get that far, you might want to check out this Instagrammer's example of her virtual wardrobe for travel. You need to swipe to see the six photos (or click on arrows if you're on a laptop). https://www.instagram.com/p/DDibQ_lvJ2d/

Oh, that is cool, Mardee! I love the visuals that Janice from The Vivienne Files uses for her curated wardrobes which are often travel-related.

Laughing...and you might have to do a Zoom class to teach us how to do this!!

I am thinking that I have enough of a packing problem without throwing this system into the mix! LOL. I do have other things to do, like getting in shape for travel...

That’s a fun idea, Mardee!

My clothes photos would be boring because I don’t do a capsule wardrobe. I just pick out a few favorite dresses & favorite tops, weigh them, and the lightest tops go with a pair of black pants. Or for colder weather, it’s two pairs of black pants and 0-1 dress.

sorry, Android users

OneNote, works like a charm on Android, including wardrobe photos!

Oh, that's great, CW! I think I'm going to try it with Notes. I'm not much of a clotheshorse, but I do love tech and it looks like a fun project. :-)

I should have realized Windows would have something, but it's been awhile since I've used it (my retirement, in fact, which was 5 years ago yesterday). :-)

I use OneNote for all of my travel planning, a natural transition after using it for years at work and home. I love its organizational features, including the newest Section Groups, similar to colored tabs in a physical notebook.

There is a OneNote for iPhone app that has similar organizational features, which the simpler iPhone Notes app apparently doesn't have.

When I tried Wanderlog, it was the OneNote hierarchical organization that I missed the most.

For wardrobe photos, the simpler Notes app will be easy and fun.
