Debated forever between the Cotopaxi 20L Allpa and the 18L Allpa backpack for our trip. Got the 20L. First, I love, love, love my 28L Allpa. The smaller version...the size was great, it met all the airline requirements and it fit under the airplane seat easily. I was able to carry everything I wanted for a 10 hour flight with room for more. I love the top double zipper compartments to stash passport, phone and glasses. I love the clamshell where everything doesn’t work its way to the bottom like in a top entry backpack. The water resistant material was great in the rain we had. And here’s the but…the place you’re suppose to store (?) your tablet is lousy. A lot of people travel with iPads and mine with a protective cover because there’s no padded protection on the 20L and even being one of the smaller older models, would not fit in the designated flap. I ended up zipping it into one of the compartments on top of other stuff. I guess it back to the drawing board to find something that meets all my needs. I just know it’s out there….

I have the Cotopaxi 20L Allpa as well, Margie, and I feel the same way about it. I like the 28L, which I also have, but the 20L just has no real protection and I worry about taking things like that. I do have a sleeve for it that I put my laptop in, but it's nice to have even more protection.
