Going on a trip and will be sailing during most of it in a catamaran. Trying to save space as the berths are limited in size. Does anyone know if the Convertible Carry-On flattens or collapses? It says frameless but unsure of what supporting structure might actually be in it.
Spent 3 1/2 weeks in Europe over the summer of 2013 and the RS convertible carryon was great. I store it at home in a plastic tote when not being used. Took it to Paris in March and it lays flat under the bed.
It should lay flat when empty. Ours (about 5 years old) don't have any kind of frame. The straps can tuck away in the back.
Thanks for the quick responses! Can make a decision now. This sounds like it will work for me.
The flat, unpacked depth of the bag, as it is shipped to you, is about one inch. The back is flexible, but padded, which means you can't really roll it into a little ball. Or course, you may continue to use it for storage onboard.
