I am travelling mid to end of may to Berchtesgaden and Hallstatt. I will be wearing very lightweight travel pants. Do u think I would need to bring on my trip (backpack) a pair of lightweight silk underwear to wear underneath
? Ty
There's no way to know.
Personally, I always bring a thin extra layer in case I run into weather a lot colder than expected. As you say yourself, you've got a "lightweight" layer, so how much space/weight would it really add?
I agree with David. It will add very little weight and not take up much space. I would rather have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them. I was there the same time of year in 2016 and there were some cool and rainy days.
You really should hold on to the extra clothing. Usually the weather is often predictable at that time of the year but then again, sometimes there might be slight variations or not. It is better to have and not use than not need and not have them.
It’s spring in the mountains.
You could have great weather or you could have a storm. Your hotel room could be warm or on the cool side. You also didn’t mention if you get chilled easily.
Silk long Johns take up very little room.
As an alternative, consider bringing leggings.
But honestly, I’d dump other things in my pack first before I give up my silkies and my rain gear.
