My husband's orange bag is little worse for wear after many trips. It is still in perfect shape, but it needs cleaning. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

My friend just enquired with RS staff on this very topic and the reply was that they don't recommend a machine wash because it can flip the foam. They only recommend spot cleaning.
That said, she is considering doing it anyway, and if she does I'll report back.
I would check with a drycleaner to see if they have any methods to clean it.
Are you asking about the standard, canvas like material, 20" bag? The reference or orange bag throws me.
It's a canvas type fabric convertible carry on, I'd say 5+ years old. The color is orange. I'm sure that's why it's looking a bit ratty. If it was a darker color it would probably look just fine.
You might try using a foam upholstery cleaner, I know there are some that come in an aerosol can and don't get the fabric real wet.
That's a great idea Nancy. Thanks!!
Your welcome Andrea, it was just a suggestion, hope it works.
I had a rolling bag with canvas like nylon materials. Several years ago we have big cordial bottle break inside on the return home. The bag was very sticky and a bit smelly. The entire back side where the wheels and handle are was soaked from the cordial. Figuring that the bag may be toast so with nothing to lose I took it outside and hung it on a clothes line. I use a high pressure hose to soak the bag and wash off as much of the cordial as I could. Then used some foaming fabric cleaner - probably something I had for the car - and soaked the area again and hit it hard with a soft scrub brush. And then a final rinse with the hose. Twenty four hours later it looked like new. Still using the bag.
Since then we have used the same technique on all of our carry on luggage with the same results. On return we now routinely hang our luggage to air out, spot cleaning with the fabric cleaner, and hose it. Keeps everything looks brand new.
