I think the best selling roller bag on the Rick Steves site looks great but it seems to be missing one thing, a place for a water bottle somewhere on the outside of the bag. Does anyone else feel like this is an important option to have on a carry-on bag?
Not something I need. I usually stash a water bottle in my personal item and don't really care about it being accessible from the outside.
I know it's important to others, though. I've seen attachments you can put on the handles of a roll aboard that hold a coffee cup so maybe that would work for you?
No.
Not something I sought out for my carry-on sized bag when I bought that, but absolutely common on the type of bag I use as a personal bag.
Have never found any need for a water bottle holder on our carry on bags. Our personal items always have a place for one. Water bottle holders with attachments are commonly available.
I would want my water bottle in the personal item at my seat, not in the overhead bin.
Are you thinking just to have a spot for holding water while you’re in the airports? On the practical side, if you have a water bottle sticking out the side of your suitcase, you would need to remove it when storing your suitcase in the overhead bin in the plane or when/if it’s checked in the gate dimension sizers.
I don’t carry water, but the back magnetic opening of my purse can hold a small bottle, if desired.
You mean something like this:
So what does one do with the cup/bottle when the bag needs to be stored?
No, you don’t want that
Because when you do have the gate, check it or check it for some other reason something like that its just going to be ripped off and damage the luggage.
Yes, I know there’s luggage has all kinds of little things hanging off of it, but I can tell you that as a frequent flyer that’s the luggage that people are in the baggage claim office at the airport crying about
Nope.
I would not want that for my carry-on bag. You can’t bring a bottle of water on any flight. So what’s the point?
I store a water bottle on the outside of my day bag which is what I use daily. My carry-on bag stays in my hotel room.
"You can’t bring a bottle of water on any flight. So what’s the point?"
You can if you buy a bottle of water in the airport after security, or bring an empty bottle with you then fill at a water fountain. But granted it's probably not a feature in high demand.
