Interesting article. My first thought though was how much weight all of this would add and that some of of the suggestions could be switched with lighter, more available options, like snack bags. There were, of course, things I already always pack, like a pashmina shawl and a hanging bag for toiletries. I'm so glad you shared because the first thing I think is how can I create a similar tool for less cost and less weight. It's at least a good brain challenge.

Yes, I thought the same thing about weight, especially if you’re going carry-on only. I think more and more people are coming around to this way, but there will always be your checked bag traveller who has the weight available. I was given a foot hammock last year and wanted to experiment with it on our last flight (making the necessary weight compromise), but the legroom space was so tight on Austrian that I literally could not hang it and use it. I’ll try again on British Airways in the spring.

Thanks Wanderlust58! It's a crazy list - an inflatable footstool for flights? Just what flights are these people flying on? That said, I did order the cable/charger organizer, as the one I have is wearing out...

Bulk and weight are always a concern for me, even when I check my bag. There are so many of these lists out there…all earning stipends for the poster on various affiliate programs. I do like that electronics organizer though.
