That looks very practical…I like it.
Too bad I already have more than enough suitcases.😏

The issues I see with this bag include the following:

  1. It's .9 pounds (14.4 ounces) heavier than my absolute weight limit of 5 pounds for an empty bag.
  2. There's no indication if the 22" height includes the wheels and handles.
  3. The 22" height is a USA airline standard (22x14x9). Most European airlines have shorter height requirements.
  4. There's no listing of liter (or square inch) capacity.
  5. And then there's this statement: "Slim design allows you to stow your Runway in the overhead of smaller airplanes, and extra-large expansion zipper provides you with the maximum allowable packing space for larger airplanes." With a maximum depth of 9 inches, I know of no airline that will allow a 10.5 inch wide bag in the bins. It won't fit in the sizer and will be noticeably too wide to the trained gate agent eye.
  6. The Amazon listing for this bag makes a big deal of TSA approving it. TSA is not the authority on what bags are carry-on compliant. The specific airline is and the measurements vary among airlines. There's only been one review so far on Amazon.

This question and its responses about a similar Biaggi bag from last December might be useful before firing up your credit card: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/packing/biaggi-any-one.

ajules, I like this! I might actually buy this! I love spinners. I have no excuse, really, but it never hurts to have a spare suitcase on hand. Yes, that's a good rationalization for buying something! And I actually like that pink color - it matches my pink packing cubes from Calpak. 😊

Lo, the 22" Delta carry-on spinner I use as a carry-on has gotten me to every single place in Europe I've traveled to for many years, and it has the same dimensions as this bag. Also keep in mind that not everyone does carry-on - some people check their bags, but want a smaller bag at their destination. With regards to the expansion, if you use it and it won't fit, then you check it - easy peasy. The regular 8" depth gives you at least an inch to spare on many airlines. And it's only 5 oz. more than my current bag.

ETA: The thread you linked to above included a final post from the OP who said she checked the measurements and they were accurate.

ETA: Coming back again to say I did some checking on a few other reputable websites and found that the company is not rated very highly. Partly for problems with the bag but also for very poor customer service. So it might just be a bag to stay away from. I still don't think the measurement issue is a deal breaker, but I don't like a company with poor customer service so that is.

@Mardee, so great to hear. I'm not much of an impulse buyer, but I did, and given Lo's comments, I was having buyer's regret. However, I got it for even less, Capitalone found an additional discount code so its probably worth trying. We rarely fly anything but Delta, and have never had a problem. I'm sure the suitcase my husband uses are beyond the size limitations. Even on codeshare/partnerships (Hawaiian, ITA, KLM, AirFrance, never had a problem) That said, of course, I will need to be mindful of the smaller European airlines. I do have a Biaggi backpack that I absolutely love. It's cranberry, so perhaps it will coordinate with the pink. ;) Besides, my daughter says with the Barbie movie, pink is very "in".

Well, now I’m on the fence about this bag. It would be the very first spinner for me. I have been a TravelPro fan for 15 years now so I hesitate. It seems there is mixed feelings about this spinner, so I sent a PM to the Forum member who posted about the bag last December (the post is closed for inactivity).

I have a Travelpro and I was not impressed at all with their customer service. Broken wheel, zipper stitching loose.

I also have 4 suitcases I got from TJMax, 15 years ago for about $40 each, They all are pretty beat up, but wheels intact, stitching and zippers all good.🤷‍♀️

Received the bag. The color is not nearly obnoxious as I thought it would be. The measurement is 22 inches from the top of the handle to the bottom of the wheels. The handle extends a good inch from the case. Therefore the case itself is less than 20 inches. I feel it is too small for most of my trips, except, I guess, if I ever fly a European budget airline. This bag also has a front opening so you can more easily get into without fully opening it, plus a zipper pocket in the back for a water bottle and last minute items. I feel for $85 it is quite a value, but I'm considering returning it.

I received an AWAY expandable suitcase for Christmas (unexpected). The AWAY is considerably better than the Biaggi tho I'd guess its 3-4 times the price. The AWAY has very sturdy, solid, spinner wheels which I've always coveted, but had them once on what was a quality brand bag, and they failed. The AWAY bag has a 10 year warranty. If AWAY stands by their product, my preference would be the spinner wheels. The AWAY bag has a lot of features inside that I like. I do wish it had some small pockets/compartments easily accessed without opening like the Biaggi does. The AWAY also has a lock.

Thanks for posting this question and all of your responses. I was on the fence about it and I'm going to wait. Price is back up to $99 based on the poor customer service and shipping delays.. I don't think I want to deal with the stress.. (even the amazon listing has a long shipping estimate... ) But I do like the features it has, so will continue my search for a versatile carry on spinner. Open to any recommendations :)
