Bag to keep at my seat on my flight

I just ordered the RS Convertible Carryon. I already have the Civita Daypack. My plan is to put the Civita in the RS Convertible Carryon on my way to the airport and then take out the Civita at the airport and keep it with me during my flight. The only electronics I plan to take are an iPad, pocket camera and an iPhone.

Does that sound like a good plan. Or is there a better option as a personal bag?

Yeah, sounds like a good enough plan to me. I do pretty much the same thing, except my "personal bag" is just a cheapie I bought at Walmart. Does the job great though--holds my kindle, phone, a few snacks, plus nicotine and regular gum. I cant remember how many times in my travels I jammed that thing into my RS rolling suitcase in a hurry to catch a train or whatever, then just pulled it out when I sat down and continued reading, websurfing, etc etc. Good plan. Its gonna work for ya :).

Cool back at ya :). Where in Europe are you heading, and is this your first time going over?

I signed up for a RS Tour to Greece in October. I've been to Europe before but tend to go to France and Germany as I have cousins there. I need to branch out. I also want to take his tour of Spain. I love Rick's curiosity. I listen to his podcast each week and feel I have learned a lot. I also want to do more independent travel than I have done.

I should start checking out his podcasts. I really like his TV shows and travel seminars he puts online. Never been to Greece or Spain either myself. I usually go to Central Europe, but I have a trip planned for Amsterdam-Germany this Christmastime. Going to wind up in Prague. Have a great trip!

I haven't been to Germany at Christmastime but I'm sure they celebrate the season elaborately. The French and the Swiss sure do. Enjoy!

In addition to your daypack, take along one of those fold up bags of thin nylon. A large one will hold your daypack, a jacket, neck pillow, bottle of water, etc. It's a great way to keep all of your stuff corralled on the plane. Unless it's stuffed to overflowing, it will still go under the seat in front of you. Then keep it folded up in your daypack for the rest of your trip, and you can use it when shopping.

I like this one- RuMe Tote but you may prefer one with a zipper.

First time taking a RS tour too! My husband has been to Greece before but I haven't, really looking forward to it. It is a small world, between NY & Pittsburgh, I lived in northern VA for 10 years. Look forward to meeting you.

It will be good to meet you as well. There is a nice sense of community in these forums, which in my experience is rare on the Internet.
