We are heading to Spain Sept 10-25. Trip route-Barcelona, Granada, Ronda, Sevilla with side trip to Cordoba, Toledo and finally Madrid. I am planning on bringing warm weather clothing only(dresses, light pants, sorts tops) and a sweater if cooler in evenings. My daughter lived there several years ago and said it will still be really hot in September. Any one been during this time frame and can confirm? Trying to follow the one bag rule!
We started our visit to Spain September 30, 2022 and it was so hot in Barcelona I had to purchase a sleeveless top. I had only brought light long sleeves tops but even those were too hot.
The other cities were a bit cooler - Seville, Granada, cordoba, Madrid, and Toledo.
We were in Spain the middle of September to the first week of August last year. I took one carry-on bag and packed 4 dresses, 1 lightweight pant, 1 pair of shorts, 1 lightweight capri, several tee shirts and a few tanks, 1 swimsuit, 1 pair of lightweight On Cloud sneakers, 2 lightweight sandals, 1 casual-but-can-be-dressy poncho style scarf (used for the airplane, churches when I had sleeveless shirts, and was easy to tie around the strap of my purse.)
If you have a chance, stop in Zaragoza. It's a beautiful old town with a cathedral AND a basilica. While it's worth a night or two, the old town can be explored in a few hours, and it's on the high-speed train route between Barcelona and Madrid.
