Another lovely bag!

I'm visiting my brother in Naples, Florida right now and my SIL and I stopped at Costco yesterday for a quick visit. On the way out, I saw a display of Lolë belt bags, which looked intriguing (because it's a bag, ya know!). I decided to buy one since it was only $12.99. The next morning I headed out to the beach for a walk with it, and loved it! It's small but sturdy, large enough for phone, sunglasses, keys and a large lip balm with room to spare, and fits snugly across the body so no bouncing while you're walking.

I liked it so much, I kept using it instead of the purse I brought. I wore mine on my hip but it can also be worn across the chest or back. Really a nice product and a great price! You can find it online but for a higher price ($16.99). It comes in black and tan. https://www.costco.com/lole-unisex-belt-bag.product.4000035885.html

Oh my...you are an enabler! So...a fanny pack reframed as a "belt bag", lol. The pictures on the Costco site are not good. I see the picture of the main compartment which looks well done but is there also a smaller zipper compartment on the back of the bag?

Inquiring minds and all that...plus my brother just went to Costco this morning and I don't want to go back this afternoon. Looks like it would be good, as you said, for walking....phone, Air Pods case, etc.

This is a pet peeve of mine. Why do on-line vendors use the black or other dark color for the detail and close-up photos? Or provide no detailed photos at all? You'll get 10 photos of someone wearing the bag, but hardly any of the bag itself. On Amazon you generally get better pictures of the product from the customer reviews.

Rant over. Please excuse the thread-jack.

Mardee, you may have inspired me here. I am in need of a very specific bag, to replace my "personal item." Something along the line of a tote, but smaller, with a shoulder strap, and a certain configuration of pockets. I've thought about sketching one and having it made, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

I do have one friend who could probably make it, and I intended to approach her about it, but she lost her job just before the holidays, and has decided to start her own bookkeeping business. I'm not sure my showing up with a new project would be welcome!

I may just write a detailed description of what I want and post it here. So many Forum Folk have favorite baggage sources and websites, that possibly someone knows how to find what I want.

But not tonight, and I won't hijack your thread. I'm just thanking you for nudging me to use a section of the Forum that I seldom use.

Thank you!

@Jane, no idea if this is what you’re thinking, but I really like this Sherpani tote bag that has a shoulder/crossbody strap. Some of the colors are 50% off right now.

Camden | Convertible Backpack | Final Sale

Don’t worry about the backpack straps. I carefully cut mine off. That also gave me an extra pocket because I didn’t need a spot to stash those straps.

Jean, that looks like a great bag, but probably bigger than I want.

I have the horrible habit of knowing exactly what I want... which means shopping is always a trudge, looking for just the right style, color, fit, fabric...

Thanks for the suggestion; that's a nice bag.

Yes, there is a smaller zipper compartment on the back of the bag plus 2 sections inside, with a mesh lining on one. It has quite a bit of room for being so small. I wore it out again today and I really really like it a lot.

I’ll tell you what, I’ll take a picture of mine and post it. Give me five minutes.

ETA: Here is a link to some photos I took. Keep in mind the belt is solid black - it just looks grayish in the photos, It has a little key hook/thing to attach keys or AirTag or something to. Inside are two mesh pockets - one large and the other side 2 smaller ones. Zipper on outside. Oh, and the zipper is YKK (gold standard for zippers).

It's really a solid bag and looks to be very well made. Here is the link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4XEqVY89xCY5qq7G9

Oh my, Mardee. As someone already said, you are an enabler! I bought 2 little belt/cross body bags that I found at Nordstrom Rack and Sierra Trading Post and received a Uniqlo bag as a gift. None are perfect. I think I need a 4th.

Great little bag! Thanks for posting this Mardee!
I must have one!
I'm thinking it would be great worn cross-body under a jacket in London.

I have a very similar bag and I wear it on the plane to have my necessities like reading glasses, phone, etc. handy. I’ve been doing this for years (it stays in my personal bag until til I’m in my seat) and I even use it instead of a purse often. I like the back zipper because no one can access it and I like that yours has a tether. When in Europe I use the RS coin purse and I have a coiled cord to tether it to the purse. My similar belt bag doesn’t have the tether so I attached a ring to the inside and tether to that.

Oh Mardee, Marde, Mardee, you are the Devil on my shoulder. Now I too must get to Costco, even though I have beltbags as follows: 2 Black (one leather for evening wear), Olive, beige, white, navy, Grey, 2 tan, an Ivory canvas, and various print models. One can be used as a wristlet w/removable strap, and 2 can be converted to a crossbody.
I purchased them from Coach, Vera Bradley, Herschel, Perlina (my evening one) Lululemon (extremely popular with back zip compartment), Target, Land’s End (canvas) and Marshalls.
And I use them all, all year round - when we’re out walking, when I am volunteering, at the Theatre, dining out, at outings such as this weekend’s Travel Show. I never have to worry about misplacing it, leaving it behind or having it out of my sight.
Use it well!

Edited to add: Mardee, i just looked at your pics, it is very similar to Lululemon’s beltbag.

Yup, bought both colours last year at our warehouse before they quickly disappeared and love them as a crossbody! Husband even used one when we travelled. Very sturdy & has a safety clip.

It is the same waist bag as the one sold at Lululemon. Different name and logo. Lululemon has more colour selections but are at higher prices than the costco version.

funpig, I thought it was the same. I read an article recently that many products sold at Costco are name brands. Thanks for the confirmation. Heading out there tomorrow.

Oh Nooo! Rebecca - don’t do it! We already got the Vera Bradley bags over the holidays.
What’s stopping me here are the Black and Tan colors. I also don’t do crossbody because of my body shape. I also try to avoid Chinese made for political reasons.

Mardee - Please enjoy Naples Florida. I am sure you have spotted some dolphins while walking along the beach. If not, keep looking - they are there. Also, take your new binoculars to corkscrew swamp board walk for great bird watching. (Bring food and beverages to the Audubon Swamp.)

Ha! I have the Lululemon belt bag. No wonder it looks similar! I used it exclusively on my trip to Europe last month and will likely do the same later this year.

So glad you all like it! That's very interesting that it's a Lululemon dupe! I still love mine - I haven't used my purse at all since I got this bag! And I can't wait to take it to England with me!

And for those who call me the Enabler, I accept that role with honor! But I also apply it to myself. I had to force my SIL to buy a very large and very gorgeous Adrienne Vittadini quilted tote bag for herself at Beall's Outlet yesterday so that I didn't bring it home.

Mardee - Please enjoy Naples Florida. I am sure you have spotted some dolphins while walking along the beach.

Sun-Baked, we saw dolphins the second day out on a boat trip we took through the canals. There were about 5 or 6 flipping right around our boat.

Don’t let the word “swamp” scare you. Corkscrew Swamp is well known and beautiful. Nice, sturdy boardwalk - lots of wildlife - friendly people who like to chat. Only thing lacking is food venue. There’re is one place at visitor’s center for drinks and snacks. But, far better off packing a picnic and leaving in car. Then, at end of boardwalk visit, retrieve it and eat at picnic tables at visitor’s center. Small Fee for boardwalk admission to Audubon.

Oh, swamps don't scare me. But I have to be careful what I do. I fractured my upper humerus in a fall about 2 1/2 weeks ago, so I can't raise my arm very high (or move it much), which means no bird-watching. 😞

If your arm is in a sling - you can still safely stroll the board walk. The wildlife is so used to visitors that the critters (including birds) just hang around the boardwalk. Binoculars are a bonus tool, but not necessary.

Oh my gosh, Mardee, my sympathies on your injury. I tripped over my Lab back in 2016 and fractured my left humerus. Needed a surgical repair, rod through the bone etc, and it was a very slow and painful rehab and recovery. ‘Broken arm’ doesn’t begin to cover it. Took well over a year to recover full range of motion.

Oh jeez, Lyndash, how terrible! I am lucky that the break was a clean alignment so I don’t need surgery. But sadly it’s my dominant arm, so that causes me some major inconveniences.

Just catching up! Mardee, thank you for the really good photos in spite of your wounded flipper! I may have to go by there tomorrow AM, lol. I need to look at it in comparison to the small cross body I have. The one I have is not quite big enough. It will fit my passport, my small zip change purse for money and cards and I can usually cram my phone in.

Mardee…i think you are an “influencer.” My daughter was Costco today so I had her look for that bag, but none in the store. So I went online and ordered the black one.
I had my eye on a similar Baggallini bag, but the price of the one from Costco sealed the deal.
Thanks for the PSA.
I’ll need to save my money so I’ll be able to order your next great find!

Pam, FWIW my passport fits in my Lululemon waist bag (2 L) in the back zipper section. If the Costco bag is a duplicate it should do the same.

Ha ha, Carol! Always happy to share my spending!

Pam and Andrea, I don't know if the bag is a dupe, but I just tried my passport and it fit in the zippered pocket with room to spare. And I still have room for my iPhone 14, my AirPods in their case, my large lip balm, and a minimalist wallet for credit cards (and still have more room). Actually, I could put the credit card holder in the zippered pocket along with the passport.

I think the best thing about it, though, is that it's so sturdy. It's not floppy like some packs, but it's not overly stiff, either. Seriously, this could be my best bag purchase ever!

Unable to get it from Costco Canada. So sad.

I bought one last year thinking my husband might want a little bag. I may have to dig it out to see if I like it better than my purse. My purse is flatter but has a bit larger perimeter. I need to compare how much each holds, as this would stay closer to the body.
