Another great clothing purchase!

I bought a Banana Republic cardigan there the other day for $19, and I really like it a lot. It's just a nice, warm, cozy cardigan, not overly thick and not overly long. I know I mentioned in my trip report that I bought a cardigan from Quince, which I really love because it can dress up a casual T-shirt and jeans. It's also warm enough but not overly warm, thin enough, and not bulky. It's great for traveling, too, as it's so lightweight. Edited price as first one was wrong.

However, this one is just great for wearing around the house if you get cold (like me) or if you want to go out and don't want to wear a jacket. In fact, the reason I bought it was that I was at Costco a couple of days ago, and they had their air conditioning on, and I was freezing. I was so cold that I started wandering over to the clothing to see if there was anything I could buy that would warm me up, and I saw these cardigans. I tried on the navy blue in my size, and it felt so good and warmed me up so much that I decided to buy it.

One of the employees was standing there, and I asked if it was okay if I wore it before buying it. He said, "Oh yeah, people do that all the time," and told me to just keep the tags for checking out.

Since then, I've been wearing it constantly. I really like the one that I bought, so now plan to go back and get one in a different color. The one I bought is in navy, so I'll get either tan or grey this time. It's made by Banana Republic, and it's really good quality and it's SO comfortable, and it looks good. Mardee, that is cute. I figured it was time for you to report another discovery. Thanks!

Ha, ha ha ha! It really is cute, Pat! It looks cuter on the body than it does in the photo. It's one of the comfiest things I own. I really do like it a lot and had to share. 😊

Mardee, you are my favorite enabler. I purchased some things from Quince yesterday, now I have to go to Costco. Actually this sweater is similar to one I was look at in Quince.

Mardee--Of course you just posted this as I am just about the head out the door to Costco, lol:). I like the buttons on this as it makes it more interesting. Hope I find it in my store.

I'm actually heading out to Costco to buy a second one! 😂 😂 😂

Jane, I agree. They would be perfect with pockets. Regardless, I now have two of them. 😂

I've noticed hardly anything comes with pockets, in my size at least. If you miss pockets like I do Rick is selling a small 'hip' pack for only $10 in the Bargain Bin Under Shop Online. I am finding it a perfect substitute for pockets & it has 2 zip pockets. I got one for me and one for my daughter. She's a teacher and says she know it will come in handy.

Thanks for sharing. Like you, I am always cold. I like that it buttons instead of having an open front. I always seem to choose black, but since that’s not an option maybe grey would work. I don’t wear navy much, but I do wear jeans and I could wear navy with them. I guess I’m going to Costco today…

Pj, free shipping- thanks for that little detail.

Andrea, I just got the gray one and I like the color. It’s not a dark gray, more like a medium to light color, but I think it would look good with a lot of things that black would go with. I’m also a person that buys a lot of black. But I have been wearing the navy one a lot. It goes well with some linen pants and jeans. Really, the only thing it doesn’t go with is black. 😆

@Laurie Beth, FYI, Eagan Costco (if thats the one you use) did not have them yesterday.

That’s weird. Duluth is usually the last one to get any of the new stuff. But I will say we just got it a few days ago because I had not seen them there before, and I check pretty regularly. So I would imagine they’ll be hitting the other spots. Maybe they started with the coldest weather first. 😂

I just came from Costco and they didn’t have this sweater. It’s more expensive online. I have 3 other Costco locations that are less than a 25 minute drive for me and I will be in the vicinity of 2 of them in the next few days. I’ll have to check them out.

I didn’t see one at our local Costco on my Saturday run today either, but…. They did have a Ted Baker London button up 100 % cotton cardigan that I liked for $17.99. Comes in three colors, light blue, mocha brown and grey. It is with the smaller buttons and more traditional old school thin cable look, dare I say a bit dressier and not as cozy looking as the mardee sweater :)

It’s weird bc they don’t show it online. Maybe only have it in the actual stores now.

I bought the light blue and grey and will probably take the light blue with me next month. So if we draw a diagram of mardee’s enabling skills, draw a line to showcase the Banana Republic sweater, then add another below to the present the Ted Baker one!

My sweaters came today. The small was just right but unfortunately they only had one color in that size. That’s the navy blue and I really like it!. I ordered the tan and the navy blue in medium as well as I just didn’t know and those were way too big.

I was at the Coon Rapids, MN Costco yesterday. I believe I saw the sweater, in beige, grey and navy, but I think it was 19. I didn't buy, but I need to take a look at my fall/winter things to be sure I don't already have something that will work.

Laurie Beth, you're right. I checked my receipt, and it was $19. I'll update my post.

mikliz, when I went back to buy a second one, I bought size medium. I don't think the first one was overly big on me so I'm going to keep it because it's nice and comfy, but the medium fit better. Mostly I'm wearing it at home, but I may go back and get another navy blue one in the next smaller size.

They didn’t have one when I went to the very large Costco that’s 5 minutes from my house, so yesterday I went to a much smaller Costco after I got my haircut nearby. They had the sweaters so I bought a gray one. It seems very cozy. It’s far too warm here to wear a sweater but next week we head north to Portland, Vancouver BC, a one week Alaskan cruise and a one week land tour, then back to Portland before we go to Leavenworth, WA before the meetup in Couer d’Alene later in September. I might not take the sweater on the cruise but I’ll have it available for later.

When I returned the two size mediums today, the lady at Costco really liked them and even took the one that I could try it on back out of the package so that she could try it on. Maybe we should all wear our sweaters when we go to Idaho next month

Yes, a matching sweater meetup. Pam and I should coordinate our Parisian mariniere shirts to wear with the sweater.

Ha ha, I love that idea, Andrea!!! Maybe I need to make another trip to Paris to pick up one of those tops! Oh wait, I'm going in December. Do they sell them in December? I have a feeling they're probably more of a warm weather thing.

Mardee, they do sell them in December but I discovered that some ‘spring/summer colors might not be available during the cooler seasons. I’ve been buying mine for years from a gentleman at the Bastille Marche, held on Thursday’s and Sundays if I’m remembering correctly. Pam, Sharyn and I have been going to the same stripey shirt guy, as we called him, for a long time. Apparently he has retired but a new guy has taken his place. Sharyn and possibly Pam can give more information. Unfortunately I didn’t get to Paris this year.

Thanks, Andrea. Pam may be there when I'm there, and if she is, I'll make her (I mean ask her politely 😊) to take me to get a shirt, but if she cancels the trip, I'll have her give me good directions.

I know where the previous guy was always set up, but I don’t know if the new guy is in the same spot. Sharyn may know.
