Air France indicate the acceptable measurement are 16" x 12" x 6" (34 linear); it is the total linear that is the essential criteria.
I like the Rick Steves Euro Flight Bag but the measurements are 14" x 13" x 8" (35 linear).
Has anyone take the Rick Steve Euro Flight Bag on board a flight from NYC to Paris as their "accessory item"?
The bag is fairly flexible - as long as you do not cram it chock full it should be fine to fit in the sizer if required.
If it were me, I would go for it (but of course I'm not the AirFrance person at the gate measuring your bag!!). I just can't imagine that such a small difference would matter. But I could be wrong!
Thank you for your comments
I have one, and although I haven't flown Air France, it is an unstructured bag. Unless you fill it to capacity, it probably won't measure the full amount. It will "flop" in on itself. You should be fine.
