A little humor with the NYT Puzzle this morning

I was trying to solve the NYT puzzle this morning (before coffee so a bit foggy brain). The first clue was “something to check before a flight” - 3 letters. I first thought “ETA”, ….“Fan”?, and then a big help was that it begins with a “BA”.. “Bar?” LOL! The puzzle was at the last word, and “Oh, it’s BAG! Yes, I don’t check luggage, so it didn’t even enter my mind. ; )

Ha! I do now check a bag, but I would have thought the "something" to check was MY LISTS.

Hahaha...Jean! I had to get one of the "downs" filled in before I got that one! Not the first thing I think about, lolol!!

Too funny! I didn’t get it either until I got the B. Even then I had to think about it.

I practically never check a bag, but I am constantly checking to make sure I have my passport, phone, etc.

Love a cup of coffee with the NY TIMES Puzzles.

Nearly the only reason I have a subscription. Start with mini crossword, end with Connections.

Presently holding at 25 words in Spelling Bee. Return to the puzzle through out the day.

I also enjoy the Miriam Webster Blossom puzzle. Especially after I finish and you can peruse what other words you could have generated with the letters. Always amazed of how many words I’ve never heard of.

Yup, old adage “ learn something new everyday,” is a truism.

Anything to keep the little grey cells synapsing.

As Spock would say, "Fascinating'

It's women who have NYT subscriptions and work their crossword.

Fully understand the caffeine deprivation handicap

Well since I read this first, I knew the answer. . . I work the Spelling Bee first and then the mini followed by Strands and Connections. Have to do something between traveling and obsessively checking flights, weather at my destinations, ticket openings, etc. Ahhh, the life of the retired and, apparently, stereotyped woman who works NYT's puzzles. . .

Hannah, you made me laugh! Neither of us heads to a bar before a flight, and we both guessed that word before “bag”!

”It's women who have NYT subscriptions and work their crossword.”

Didn’t know there was a stereotype- LOL! And I’m selectively cheap, so I use the free versions. (Will pay for DuoLingo; won’t buy a NYT subscription). Actually my husband started me on Wordle a few years ago, and we began doing it together each morning. We alternated who started - odd or even day. The other person added the second word, and then we would work together for the remainder words, if needed.

For Spelling Bee, we would do occasional screenshots and then compare our word list for fun. My favorites are still Strands, Tiles and Easy/Medium/Hard Sudoku, the new Pips, and the mini-crossword.. I tolerate Connections. ; ). And to exercise my brain memory , often I pull them up on my phone in the evening to see how quickly I can re-solve the puzzles I did that morning on the iPad.

I simultaneously love Spelling Bee and am frustrated by it. It seems so easy but some days I'm thinking, am I this dense that I can only make 3 words? ;-D
