A Coffee Press for Travel

For anyone who has only just begun to realize they may have a coffee making issue and want more than to tolerate instant coffee or inconsistent hotel setups, look at the PRESSE by Bobble. I got one to serve purely as a travel press, and it solves that issue. Not to mention that it serves as a travel coffee cup as well.

I used it for the last two weeks in England and the Netherlands, making two to four cups of coffee daily. It performed flawlessly.
Instead of a traditional French press plunger, the design uses a solid internal sleeve with a single-piece stainless steel micro-filter screen that nests into the outer cup. This filters perfectly and keeps the grounds trapped securely at the bottom. The sleeve inserted and pressed down will prevent over steeping. For tea drinkers this will work as well with loose tea blends.

The 13 fl oz capacity is perfect. It has a small foot print with no protruding handles or delicate parts, making it easy to maintain and clean. For packing, the size makes it easy to slip into luggage, and it fits perfectly into the water bottle pockets on packs. If you want real coffee while traveling light, this is the press to get.

I bought it back in August when the price dropped from $18 to $10:

Just out of curiosity, do you bring your own coffee beans (or ground) or do you buy at destination?

This was the first trip that I carried the press with me and I bought ground coffee in each city along the way.

I actually don't mind instant coffee. My problem has been finding something small, like the size of a water bottle, that can heat water. I tried two from Amazon years ago. One had a funny smell that never went away and the other was wider than I wanted for travel. One thing I'd love to be able to do is wander quiet cobblestone streets early in the morning with a big hot coffee in my hand!

I've been carrying my Aeropress with me on quite a few trips and found that it's perfect for what I need. I have several versions, the regular one that I use at home, but for my trips, I bring a compact version that stacks togehter so that it's much smaller and easier to pack. It works just as well as the other, but is great for traveling.

There is another one out there that someone else mentioned (Frank II?) that's also supposed to be good although I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

But I think more and more people are realizing that small coffee presses like this are not only good for travel, but can also make very good coffee.

I think I have almost every type of travel coffee maker.

But I keep returning to this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0D94FRM4Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It fits in my coffee cup for traveling and is easy to clean. Good for both ground coffee and loose leaf tea. I put ground coffee in, let it sit a couple of minutes, then remove it. No coffee grounds seep through.

I'm also currenlty traveling with this one:

It does a good job but needs a filter. Very compact and no smell.
